Excuse me, yes, the 16 drawer one.

The coupon number doesn't match the ad on the current opening page of www.harborfreight.com and the coupon you refer me to expressly states " cannot be used on tool storage or carts".

But I'll try it.

Thanks.
I'm not referring to the large 20% off coupon, There are 2 coupons below that specific to the item you're asking about. :)

The coupon numbers do not match those either, but HF has many many different coupons for the same deals.

Any chance of checking for a mobile device, like when clicking on a photo, and not using the lightbox? Not able to save a photo while it's in a lightbox, and is very small. At least have a link to the photo of the coupon.

Does anyone have or know how good the 8 channel surveillance camera system is? I'm looking for a system for outside my home and garage. Also, if there is a coupon out there for it, I'd appreciate a copy of it. Thanks

Found coupons for $259.99, however it's on sale for $299.99 - 20% = $239.99

No idea on quality though...

Right you are Leftyz. Thanks for the link to the coupon.

They did indeed honor the coupon and I got the toolbox for $319, with an additional $50 off because all the top boxes remaining in the store were scratch and dents.

I selected the floor model top box, that had a minor scratch along the side, but was otherwise perfect.

I then selected a bottom box that appeared to have no damage to the packaging, but found fairly severe crush damage when I unpacked it at home. Apparently too many were stacked up or something. So it's going back tomorrow. I know they're real good about customer satisfaction.

It's bigger than my old box so the extra space will be a welcome change.

When all is said and done I will have gotten the box set for a smoking hot deal of $269!

Bigtee, nice box's

I took the two big drawers on the top box and moved than to the bottom box , so my top has 10 drawers on top and put the big stuff that I don't use as much down stairs..

Easy to do just drill out a few rivets , everything fits, no mod's.

Preference I guess ......

I'll post a photo later tonight when I get on my other computer

Please post, I would be interested in doing the same thing.

The top was $289, $359 for the bottom

Is there a coupon right now for the top?

Really like this idea. Big, heavy stuff does belong in the bottom drawers.

Per request ,

Few photos of the box drawers.

Just move to slider drill out the front rivet , take the track and put it where you want it. The box already has a provision for it put a new rivet in and your done..

I did it to put the bigger stuff down low and regular drawers for wrench's and tools you use all the time..

Also I think you can buy extra drawer sliders for the larger drawers if you need extra strength..

Hope that helps..

So you switched the slides on the 2 boxes rather than switching the slides on the sets of drawers (assuming the latter would only work if your top box/big drawer came with 2 sets of slides).

I was in HF today asking about this chest. The checkout clerk pulled out a flyer for the March parking lot sale and the chest was listed for $349.

That said, i'll try to use the posted coupon tomorrow, since I'd rather have it now for the extra $10 than wait another month.

let me know if I'm following this correctly... if the drawer tracks are all the same, is the only reason you had to move the slides because the deep drawer on the top box only had one set of slides? Had it had 2 sets of slides, you wouldn't have had to do this?

I know there is a thread mentioning this that is a couple years old but I'm having trouble finding it. Anyone have the part number for the extra set of slides to add to the top box's deep drawer?

Is there really not a 25% off coupon right now?

I was talking to one of the employees yesterday and was told that Harbor Freight is not going to be releasing to many of these because they are eventually getting rid of the 25% off coupons. He also stated that someone would be extremely lucky if they did happened to get their hands on one with the way things are looking right now.

flourescent magnifing lamp for work bench

Has anyone seen where this lamp goes on sale? Need a work bench lamp for small projects. I may have to wait until the next 25% off coupon comes around.

I just took the top track off the bottom deep drawer and put it up on the top box where the short drawer goes.

If I remember right the top box with the deep drawers had only one track..
the whole switch was 4 rivets..

And then people go back to home depot, lowes, sears etc because at their price point most of their things aren't worth it unless they are 25% off.

The current top boxes have 1 set of slides per deep drawer. The older ones, specifically the first gen of the glossy red paint had 2 slides per.

This won't work in every combination of top & bottom; some there are different measurements for the distance between the mount holes, others the release catch is not installed the same way (ie one will be upside down compared to the other). I tried it this way with two tops I had and they would not work. I had at the time 3 bottoms & two tops, I could interchange only one of the tops with two of the bottoms. Two boxes out of five were odd men out, with no correlation to when they were purchased.

There is also a thread from about 8 mos ago also. I got bored searching for it. In it was also mentioned the locking tabs at the back of the drawer are not the same between the bottom & top so this is really only useful if you don't intend to move or lock either box.

I forgot all about the lock tabs in the back, but it doesn't matter to me , my wife can use my tools when ever she wants (just has to put them back where she found them) lol........

Harbor Freight been playing this sale gimmick for a very long time. They mark up the prices and with the coupon brings down to retail price. They are not giving **** away,Why you think they don't honor coupons on parking lot sales or super coupon items its because that is retail price. They change colors on sales tags and but not prices. I go there often and observed this ****.

This would be amazing if true. Not that the coupons are gone, but that corporate communicated this to the store level. I know someone (very, VERY personally) that works there and there is no communication as such. I think that employee was full of the poo poo. I will see if I can confirm or deny the situation in the near future.

I agree, this is not the first time that 25% coupons were scarce, I think they strategically release them around their special sales so that people don't get too good of a deal.

This is the first time, since I started going to Harbor Freight, that I have not been able to find a 25% off coupon. I will go back when one comes out.

I have never (well, very rarely) been a coupon user. But I do not buy anything at Harbor Freight that I do not have a 25% off coupon for. They just bring it out of me.
