The official HF policy is to accept images of coupons on phones.
that discussion could be out of context. the rep their may mean "legitimate" coupons from say your email instead of unauthorized copies of existing coupons from third parties.

I wonder what that rep would say if specifically asked about that hfqpdb.com website

Usually I can just read it to them. But I have been asked to show them the phone and they zoomed in, read the fine print and exp date themselves, and then typed the code.
They don't actually have to do anything but enter the code into the register. It will pop up "expired" or some other rejection if the code isn't valid. Also won't apply discounts to off-limits excluded items.

Considering how many people shop there and put their emails into the register, there could easily be 100,000x more coupons than actual products to buy in the stores. Managing fraud through authorized emailed is not going to be effective.

Besides, they have tight-controls already through the actual coupon code# itself. The registers know exactly which codes are valid and which aren't. I can cut up a flyer/email-coupon and tape a 25% off bar-code underneath it and it'll get rejected either through expiration-date or exclusion if I tape it under a compressor.

There's simply no way to use these coupons outside of their allowable dates and for the exact products they're intended for. I haven't found a way to "hack" these coupons. If anyone has, I'm sure we've would've heard about it.

This is what she was responding to:
If you want a screen shot I'll post it.
Harbor freight, do you accept digital coupons, or do we need to print it?

If the coupon number is legitimate, it doesn't really matter what the source is. Their policy is to accept digital copies of coupons so effectively there are an infinite number of valid coupons out there.

I was in a store today and used 4 different coupons on my phone directly off the hfqpdb site. The clerk could clearly see the browser address bar at top of the screen.

of course the source matters as most retailers don't like it when people reproduce coupons and actively redistribute them over the internet.

The dialog between that rep and whoever tweeted them skirts around the hfqpdb.com website. We don't really know exactly what kind of digital coupons the rep on twitter is talking about.

I can't believe people are having coupon trouble, they been out for years; read them the damn code and be done with it.

Eventually I'm sure all the idiots will screw up coupons from coming out since they keep making HF corporate aware of every single coupon shared online via their twitter. I never even remotely had a problem with using a coupon code for years. HF employees dont care, and if they give you a hard time tell their *** off and put them in their place. That will fix that.

That's true enough for baby formula or cigarettes.

But I think it's pretty clear that Harbor Freight's marketing strategy revolves around the mass distribution of coupons.

HF is making, not losing money when someone uses a coupon. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't get coupons in the mail, coupons in the paper, coupons in magazines, coupons in my email, ect ect ect.

Shoot i've seen people in line use a code that was hand written on a piece of paper and they are never turned away.

I don't really need anything from HF right now but I feel like I shouldn't let this 25% coupon go to waste. Anyone have good ideas for what to use it on?

Same boat... hate letting this pass by, but don't really need anything right now. I've been tempted to pick up a 20T press, but am out of space right now.

In the real world this is only a 5% off sale.
Special trips for low price stuff you don't need saves you very little if anything.

It is another win for HF though.

Don't tell my wife that. She just looked at the receipt and said "wow this thing is listed at $50 but I was already on sale for $25 plus you got another 25% off with the coupon? Way to go! You should have bought 2."

She doesn't know how HF works. :lol_hitti

Gotta love good wives like this!

Mine comes with regularly to help with the free and 20% coupons. All she asks is: do you really need it? If yup then no questions asked. Love her!

For what it's worth, I asked the local store manager if the 44" toolboxes were included in the upcoming memorial day sale and he responded no. Then he suggested I look on line for the harbor freight coupon website. He said it usually had a coupon for $10 more than the sidewalk sale price. I guess our secret is out.

Thank you Sir, but I am looking for the roller version.

I would like to add some accoutrements from SWAG.

No current 25% coupons ?!?

Just got a text from HF with a 20% code - but I feel somehow cheated if I don't have a 25% coupon... and yes, I am Scottish....

Well... there was the 25% off one item but I think it expired in Mid May. Then we had 25% on Mom's day - but hey, that's not a great day to tool shop...

Did they used have 25% off "entire order" coupons? That would be sweet indeed for cheapskates like me.

Now we just need a 25% off on MEMORIAL DAY !!!

I notice the cool freebies are disappearing now.

i've noticed this too... all i've been seeing lately are flashlights and tarps

even the parts holder coupons have been scarce lately

and my mailers have not included any freebies or % off coupons for some time
