Anyone using one of those "MIG/Flux Cored Welder 170 Amp-DC, 240 Volt"? How good are they? Found a coupon at:
http://www.hfcoupons.com/coupon/170-amp-dc-240-volt-migflux-cored-welder/
for $170.70 and not sure if there is any cheaper than this to buy or if i can use an additional 20%...

Thanks for any help and advice.
Not sure, but every penny counts..

Yes, you right ! Saving few more pennies is really good! Will the 20% or 25% work with this or those coupons 20,25% off are for stuff that is not on sale?

I have one of their 240 mig welder and its a pile of junk. The duty cycle is about 10% 1in10 minutes then it overheats and you have to let it cool down. It also doesn't penetrate thick steel to well. Just save your pennies and get a Hobart or a Lincoln for a little more

Regards,

% off coupons are not valid for welders (among other things) its all in the fine print.

Anyone have a coupon for the 26" roller cabinet to beat $369.99? I've seen older coupons closer to $300, but nothing current. I am not in a hurry.

Hmm, thanks for that advice! I wish i had $500 right now to buy one of those brands! I know they are better! I need to do 2 home gates and then after that it may sit there and not using so much. Anyway appreciate your info and advice friend.

Then look on Craigslist and buy the better welder for 70-80% of full retail, maybe less. Go for the better welder I went with the Lincoln mig and it works fine.

I have the 170a machine. I upgraded the ground lead but have really worked the welder over for 2-3 years now. By no means is it a "good" welder but it sure is better than nothing! I've made my $170 back on it many times over and even welded the knuckles to my front axle with it on my Wrangler, track bar mounts, trusses, etc. Given that, I think it does thick steel just fine.

All things considered, for $170, it's an excellent welder. Put it head-to-head with a $600 welder, it's not very good....but it's 1/3rd the cost.

I agree with goodygotacuda. Waiting until you save up enough for the better quality welder is just the start. You'll need to buy a tank of 75% Argon/25% CO2. A 40 cubic foot tank delivered to your house costs a bit more than $180 (https://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl?Next::1:UNDEF:OR:40CYL-. Re-filling your tank runs abour $45. You could rent a tank but if you don't use a lot of gas, you could end up paying even more. If you don't have one, a welding helmet is going to cost at least $50 as well. Figure another $100 for gloves, a leather apron, and a welding shirt or jacket. A welding cart for another $50 and you're looking at $380 over and above what your welder costs.

Did I mention that you can weld stainless steel for an additional $200 once you have the MIG?

I just purchased two of these before Christmas, from what I've seen there isn't any coupons that work on toolboxes anymore.

Thank you for your advice! Will be getting the one from Hf in few weeks before coupon will expire. Will also be getting some insurance on it just in case.

Appreciated!

Does someone have a coupon for the 2 shelf service cart for $29.99? I saw one in Birds and Blooms at the Dr.'s office but unable to clip that one.

Use the search tool, http://www.hfqpdb.com/tools type 60390 in the first box and search. There is one that is valid in the 2nd link
