My dad picked up one of those motorcycle lifts last weekend. It seems well enough built, especially for the price. He plans on using it to maintain his '98 Goldwing...about 900# worth of bike....since dad is getting too old to crawl around on his knees...

I'm helping him put the bike on it this weekend, so we'll see. I'll check back in and post my thoughts when we get it up in the air.

I've been wanting one for a while. I will say that they drop to this price a lot.

For you two with the lift, what do your bigger bikes weigh? I have an '09 Nomad that comes awfully close to the 1000 lb limit, along with two smaller bikes. I've read reviews that it handles larger bikes just fine. I'm hesitant though.

I have a 2003 Honda VTX 1800 fully dressed...easily as heavy if not more than the Nomad and it lifts my bike with ease. Been using it for 2+ years and think it's great except the wheel lock. I didn't even use the one that came with it, just picked up the drive on lock from Harbor Freight at the same time and have used it since day 1.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I plan on grabbing the better wheel chock as well. It's a common mod. Just wanted to be sure it would hold a bike that is about 1000 lb.

Good one! I've got one just for trailering...and I forgot - the front wheel lock definitely *****. The drive on one would be easy to bolt on. Thanks for the idea!

Used a 20 % coupon off 1 item today; we had our parking lot sale last weekend but the weather sucked so bad they held it over to this weekend but didn't have anything outside like tents or canopy's so no one driving by knew, the only people that knew it was still going on were the people who get email from that particular location. So I picked up the 40lb blast cabinet for $140 and change, no lines, no hassle , no crowds, awesome.

Try this site. I have used them for other coupons, but not HF yet.
This says it is good for $99 off!:rocker:

http://www.retailmenot.ca/coupons/harborfreight.com#c7211944

i have had decidedly mixed results with retailmenot. they seem to have gotten worse as time goes on.

the best resource for hf coupons remains:

http://www.hfqpdb.com

which is either leftyz's site, or one he heavily contributes to. i am unsure about the relationship. i am sure that it is the best resource out there for hf coupons. i rarely find one they dont already have, and i always find ones i have never seen elsewhere.

Thanks. It seems to work by applying the coupon on the website. Brings the price down to 339. I will take it to the store. Appreciate it.

Incidentally, the Craftsman compressor in your avatar is the one that I am replacing with this HF one. After 15 years, the oil-less noise has finally gotten to me.

Let us know if you like this one!

Yeah, every time I'm driving by HF I will usually pull in just to get a freebie (NPR)... I just open up your website and see what is available... lol.

Well, thanks for the coupon for HF 29 gallon compressor but I decided to go with a Sanborn 30 gallon twin cylinder from Menards. With 11% rebate it is $383., about 43 bucks more that the HF compressor. Sanborn has a 2 year warranty, HF's 2 year costs $107.

Any coupon for the hammer drill. I need to sick a couple of holes into my fireplace

http://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-heavy-duty-variable-speed-reversible-hammer-drill-60495.html

Thanks

I don't have a coupon for you but be cautious of the hammer drill. I picked one up to sink 3 bolts into concrete slab for my air compressor. Made it through the chore but the motor grinds now and I don't suspect it'd make it through the next chore.

If it's truly a 'couple holes' into that fireplace, it's a good pick-up for those once in a while tasks vs. the couple hundred bucks of other brands.

ditto on the hammer drill... had a menards brand that burned up (which was built identically to the HF drill... guessing different labels in the same factory) so i got a harbor freight drill... did 4 1/2" holes through 4 inches of concrete, and put my posts on my patio in (3/16") with no issue... did some stuff in the basement (drilled about 18 holes in a circle to help break out cement) and it burned up after that... took it in and replaced under the guarantee, so i'm on my second one. they're not terrible, especially for the price, but like said above better for a once in a while chore. i think if you're doing alot at once like i did, let it cool here and there. seems to not like heat that well (same with the menards brand i had). but i'd say definitely worth 25 bucks.

Can non-inside track members use the coupons or are they going to ask for a membership card or check to see if you are actually a member?

My guess is they will decline the coupon and will check your membership. Of course that may differ per store. They get a little kickback or something on sales of the membership so the motivation to apply the coupon for you will be lacking. Look to be hit up with an up-sell on a membership. Memberships are a money maker for them not something they do for the good of the customer. You just have to evaluate if joining is worth it. It might be if you have some large purchases in mind to join for a year until you pickup all you wanted.

OK so we just got a new HF in town. Before that it was too long of a drive to make the inside track "club" or whatever they call it, worthwhile. But with a HF in town it is worth considering. So is it worth the price to join?

Probably been asked previously, if so just point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Ron

I had always thought the other way around. The main benefit of the Inside Track membership was that if you didn't live near one you could get the lowest price on several items in the same trip. Now that I drive past one twice a day I can use the 20 or 25% off coupons one at a time whenever I want to stop. The club prices are very close to the 20% off coupons. I also use magazine coupons.

It depends on what you buy. If you get it online you get a $10 gift card so brings price down. IMO if your a high volume buyer than yeah it's worth it

The short answer it depends. The other day when I re-joined after several years of not belonging I received discounts of about double the cost of the ITC.

I just uploaded this week's ITC coupons (there are weekly and monthly coupons)

Out of the 12 weekly coupons this week, only 1 is a better deal than 25% off

So, Which would you rather get in the mail? (see attachment).

The mailer I got without the 20% or freebies was worse for every coupon, either the same price or higher than every coupon in the book.. I'm curious if anyone else got one even better?

Can I get some pics of the monthly mailers from you guys?

Thanks Lefty

No problem at all :)
