i got an email today telling me that the "extended parking lot sale" was in it's last day.

i noticed among the coupons that were attached a bunch of the ones for lower priced items were for rounded dollars (like $4), not the usual 99 cents **** (like $3.99).

i wonder if they are doing an experiment to see if they sell more when it is a penny less (pushing the price to the next lower dollar). i know there is a lot of research that indicates that subconsciously people are more willing to buy, because it is "a dollar less", even though it really isn't.

you would think, wouldn't you? but i have found things with long term coupons (good for 60 or 90 days) for less than "the big sale" (like sidewalk sales or 4th of july sales).

i would like to think that it is some grand experiment where they are trying to figure out exactly how long people will hold on to and remember a coupon, or how various advertising venues compare. but i suspect it is just several people not talking to each other.

i notice, as an example, that the ads i see in cycle world have coupons for a lot of the motorcycle stuff you dont see elsewhere. i imagine it is the same for other things i dont get magazines about. . . . .

thanks for the ideas.... but I could have sworn those 20 ton press used to be 154...and then apply 20 would be cheaper then 139..... but I guess they raise the prices again....
I have been noticing slowly that harbor freight prices are not what it used to be and now almost same or more then home depot on husky or kobalt tools...I go to home depot for the specialized tools that others don;t carry...
even amazon and ebay are cheaper and better then some stuff that harbor freight carry....so its not what it used to be...although I would say their quality has been going up and I guess there are pricing them up...too bad.
