well you used a 1.5 ton jack on a 2+ ton truck....
I'm sure it will be fine for a miata.

I will admit, I for some reason had it in my head it was a 2 ton jack but when I saw it leaning like the tower of pizza I was under the truck and almost browned my shorts so I went and got the 3 ton low profile jack and some jack stands because at the time I was just under it trying to loosen the rear shackle bolts (prep for installing a lift kit). I've tried to adopt a safer approach to doing things since then.

I use the 3 ton jack with 6 ton jack stands to hold up whatever I'm working on, including a tire if I remove it. I then shake the hell out of it to ensure stability and then minimize my time under. If you're willing to risk your life because you're too cheap to purchase the proper equipment, you have no reason to be under a vehicle. Too many family members learn this the hard way. It's also one hell of a painful way to go.

Agreed to a point, In so much as I would stay under the car for a week if I knew it was on the stands good.
Every major holiday, Harbor Freight does a 25% off coupon instead of the usual 20%, that's good for 1 day only, the day of that holiday... but this time, they've put one out that lasts a whole 2 weeks! ~Fri May 25 through Thu Jun 7.

Not sure, things are always going in and out of sale status at HF. When you have your eye on something specific, it's probably best to bookmark the product pages and check them weekly or something like that, read through all the coupon emails and snail-mail they send, and search hfqpdb.com periodically too.

I believe they very rarely dipped below $299 for the pair of top and bottom. The new one is at least deeper.

So I got my HF mailer today and it had a one time use(with my name and a bunch of extra coupon code #s) 25%off coupon for July 4th on the back.

Anyone seen a coupon for the 44" top box....? There is a $449 for the bottom even for the black and blue....But I haven't been able to find one for the top box.

I think that one came out when they introduced the new Series 2 lineup...I haven't seen one since....I was going to go ahead and buy a set this weekend but they don't have the top box in black.
