Does HD or Lowe's have Icon/Quinn level of quality of tools? I am not trying to argue -- just wondering myself. Is the Husky/DeWalt/Kobalt stuff as good of a value? I am talking about the quality divided by price ratio.
It all seems dirt cheap relative to truck brands. $300-$400 worth of tools (can get you hundreds of tools) can literally pay for themselves on one repair.
Today I went to HF to buy some basics for stepson. He is 22 and literally has not even a screwdriver. They were pretty thin on the stock. Sold out of the 53 piece toolset for $15. I ended up getting him the $11 Voyager toolbox, basic hammer, 6 piece screwdriver, pliers, adjustable wrench, socket set, hook/pick set, Allen keys, needle nose pliers, level, tape measure, utility knife.............etc. I went to install RAM into his gaming PC 2 weeks ago, and he did not even own a Phillips screwdriver. I had to go out and get my multi-tool out of my car.
I didn't know the 30% off coupon was good for more than 1 item (up to 5). Doh, could've saved like $9.
