They're better than nothing, but nowhere near as durable as the 9 mil thick ones. I wish I would have known how much the price was going to spike on the 9 mil ones. They used to be $10 with a coupon, would have bought as many as I could carry. Anyway, walmart has Grease Monkey 6 mil gloves for $6.88 a box on their site. In store they're $11, so I'm not sure if they'll honor the $6.88 price online. Worth a try though. You could also order online for store pickup, that might work. I've used the 6 mil Grease Monkey gloves for a while now. Decent, but they're not as good as the HF 9 mil gloves either.

Didn't realize the 9 mils went up to $22 a box for 50. Haven't bought a box since before the pandemic. They are thick and durable enough that I tend to feel guilty throwing them out. Thanks for the lead on the grease monkeys. I'll check them out.

Edit: $7 for a box 50 grease monkeys actually makes the HF 5 mils @ $8 a decent deal

Per the HF website - "Nitrile glove prices are up and supplies are low because of a worldwide raw material shortage. Our profit margin has NOT changed and you can be sure that when costs decrease so will our prices."

The irony here is I would think there would be 10% more raw materials in a box of 100 X 5 mils versus 50 X 9 mils. So a box of 9 mils should be cheaper in theory.

frankly the 9mil ones are nice, but the 7mil are worth it.

but i prefer the sams club ones, idk what mil they are but for the price (well they were like 20 bucks for 2 boxes) they are good. 200ct to a box and most places charge 20 bucks box

I understand that HF cashier's earn a commission on extended warranty sales. Does anyone know if the warranty price they quote you is a fixed price that all customers are quoted? Or does the cashier have discretion to make the warranty price any figure above some minimum?

I believe it is based on the value of the item that you are buying.

What I meant to ask is, does the salesperson get to decide what the price of the extended warranty is above some minimum price that HF determines, with the salesperson getting the difference as a commission? Do they have discretion to make up the price? Is this a haggle opportunity for the customer, or is it a firm price set by HF?

HF employees are not paid commission and do not have discretion to make up the price. You can haggle with the store manager on open box items or you used to be able.

I thought they got commissions on ITC memberships and extended warranty sales? If they do, that's fine. I'm just wondering if they set the prices for extended warranties to get as much as they can, or if they have to offer a fixed list price for the warranty.

Warranty prices are set by a 3rd party insurance company, and HF gets a cut. *IF* employees get commission (there effort at selling would deem otherwise), it would be based off a set price. Warranty prices at any retail store can't be modified.

While on the topic, it's illegal in the states I worked retail in, for an employee to offer to reduce the price of a product if you get the warranty. You can suggest it, but the salesperson can't.

I just picked up a box of the 9 mil latex gloves for $14.99, which is the price listed on the website. Based upon prices mentioned a few weeks ago, maybe prices are trending down a bit. I bought a box of these many years ago, and have no idea what I paid, probably less than $10, and still have a few. I haven't tried the 7 mil, but I really like the 9 mil.
