The SKUs/model numbers are generated by HF. They can at their discretion, reuse, recycle SKU numbers and are for HF's own use. Think internal store use.
The UPC codes are assigned to a product by another entity and are used globally. Think external store use.
It is entirely possible that HF is using the same SKU with a different UPC bar code for a revised version of the recalled stool.
Caveat emptor. If you're buying a HF mechanic's stool, make sure what you are buying is not recalled. Verify both SKU and accompanying UPC is not on the recall list.
