Not sure if its been discussed previously, but I received a email about it a few minutes ago. I guess my only concern would be in regards to updates down the road, looks like the normal price will be 2k, but can be had now for 1k and some change.

Well looks like autel is a company in there own right so maybe everything will be kosher, anyone have any feedback on this unit? Or similar?

The Maxidas has been out for a few years and the platform has been updated a couple times. The menus take some getting use to and are a bit clunky but other than that it works pretty well and that price is actually great if you can use a coupon and if they're an authorized Autel dealer and not selling grey market units [no support].

Updates are free for the first year. After that its ~$800.

The only glaring flaw with the unit is there is no internal battery. Knock the plug out and it shuts off immediately.

Money no object the Solus is a better scan tool but for the price its hard to beat the Maxidas. Certainly an upgrade over the OTC Encore pile.

Interesting. I wonder what brand scanner HF cloned to create the Maxidas?

Any idea how much a "name brand" device, with the same capabilities would cost?

The Maxidas DS708 is an Autel scanner. HF is merely a retailer. Street price for US models has been about $1200-$1300.

Matco and Cornwell use to offer Autel units also, not sure if they still do.

Got wifi and internet. That's pretty cool. Seems to do everything, at least they say it does. Support (and ability to upgrade) is probably better with a truck system though but this is significantly cheaper.

I saw this too this morning and thought there might be a thread about it already. My first thought when I saw the price was 'where is this going to fall between a Solus and Torque for android'
