I purchased a compressor a few months ago from Harbor Freight.
I didn't open it for a couple of months because I had to move it to my "new home" and wanted to keep it crated for the move. When I finally opened it just after Christmas I found that the tanks PSI gauge had been bent slightly and that the dial was stuck at 40 PSI.
I'll cut to the chase and tell you I finally connected with Customer Service and then to the Inbound Sales Dept." where they wanted the info off the orig. receipt in order to get the part and shipping cost covered under the warranty. "where the hell would I put the receipt, .....months after I purchased and moved the compressor.?" Oh well the gauge and shipping only totaled approx. $40.00 bucks, no big deal. So it was charged to my Visa and upon request, was sent via USPS to avoid brokerage costs.
Well I mentioned this to my better half when the Visa bill came in, and she says "You gave me the receipt to file !!" So I contacted customer service with the info they required off the receipt, and asking if they would credit the costs back to my Visa.
Two days later I received an email saying the credit would be adjusted on my Visa acct within the next 48 to 72 hrs..
Because the gauge was sent out and paid for,......they had my money remember!! I really didn't expect them to credit the amt. back,... but they did.
So thanks Harbor Freight !
