Too short- working height makes my back hurt, I cut/extended the post on the one I use(d). Currently retired the (2000lb?) HF unit in favor of an old homemade unit.

I got the 1,000 pound one. I am pretty happy with it, but only had 4 and 6 cylinder engines on it.

My stand has only been used for 4 cylinder engines. The brace was added by PO who only worked on Model A 4 bangers. 3 wheels is not real stable IMO

I have the 1 ton model and its pretty stable. The only downsides are that it can be a bear to rotate an engine upside down, and the v on the legs make it difficult to transfer a motor from the cherry picker to the stand...

That is the one downside to these things. The one way I found around this is to lower the cherry picker to set the engine on the ground, then block the cherry picker up enough to get the engine stand under it.(block under the frame, not the wheels.) Then lift the engine back up and transfer to the stand.

Don’t try folding the legs up during the transfer like this guy.
This guy in the video (ETCG) modified his stand permanently to fix this problem.

I have the 1,000lb one and have had several engines on it. Always handled the job decent enough. The weak spot on mine was the aluminum pin that prevented rotation. Is pretty soft and when wrenching it would shift slightly until I replaced with a better pin.

Oh - I did have to sand the paint from shaft of the engine bracket since it had little-to-no clearance to rotate easily - they apparently did not take the paint thickness into account for the clearances.

Otherwise, I have had a fully dressed 3sgte with turbo and DP, a 1mzfe, and various other 6 and 4 cylinder engines and never had an issue.
