Harbor Freight framing gun?

Im looking at buying a framing nail gun.

I'll be building some garage shelving, a closet in my garage, and doing minor work around my house as time goes on.

I have the HF finish nailer that has worked well for me and the thing only costed about 20 $ . Was well worth the money.

Im tempted to buy the HF framing nailer too, but I know from expierance some of their stuff is junk.

The 21 degree HF nailer im looking at is 85$ and id use a 20% coupon.

Theres also some name brand gun at home depot and lowes . A Campbell Hausfeld for 125 and a few other brands on amazon for around the same cost.

What do you guys think ? anyone use the HF framing gun ?

should I give it a try or not waiste my $$

I have the blue 28º picked up about 2 years ago and it's been great. I think I paid about $50 for it and have blown through about 3000 nails with it with no problems. For finish nailing I have 2 different Hitachi models and they have been excellent.

I give it a A+. I've used mine quite a bit and even lent it out to friends for their shed / house projects. When I bought mine I remember reading some reviews on other forums where people said to stay away from the nails Harbor Freight sells because they jam. Home Depot sells Hitachi nails that are 21 degrees, but I must admit that it's a bit hard to find them anywhere else.

Anyway, between friends and myself the gun has probably seen several thousand nails without any jams or problems.

I've had mine for about 4 years. Just used it again last week. It's been rock solid for me.

bought one when I redid the carage. the mechanism where the nail shoots thru (don't know what it's called) blew apart. HF is 5 minutes away. they exchanged it, no problems.

I built this barn with one. And I've loaned it out a couple of times. Use good nails and squirt some oil at it a couple of times a day.

did you buy their extended warranty or did they change it out with the normal warranty ?

can they all be mixed and mathced I though each brand uses its own nails....

Yes, I'm a sucker for extended warranty. However, the tool failed within 2 weeks of purchase. It wasn't an issue.

We have one of their smaller nailers and it has worked great so far...
