Two times I have tried to use my HF kit the fitting was not deep enough to work. I have not used any of the adapters, but the basic Schrader valve is junk.
Both times I reverted back to my basic OTC 5630 kit.

Mine is the previous version HF US General set that came in the styrofoam tray. It works fine but Teflon tape on the threads is mandatory I found out.

Junk. There is something in the Schrader valve connector that is supposed to open the valve. Mine fell out somewhere and that was that. And it leaked.

I have had an Actron kit for about 20 years that came from a local autoparts store. They still sell a kit that looks similar for around 65 bucks or so. About the same I gave for it in 1997. I lost the fitting for Fords so I then picked up an otc kit. Both have worked great for home use, but the otc has led a sheltered life compared to beating around in the back of the trunk like the Actron. Amazingly enough, i found the Ford fitting after buying the OTC

That figures. The US General stuff were halfway decent tools, but I suppose they were costing too much to make. If Harbor Freight can't make a 200% profit on something, they discontinue it.
