So I need to pull a bearing off a crank for my air compressor rebuild are the harbor freight gear pullers any good ? I know there cheap but I won't use them everyday.
As long as you do not put high torque on it, it should be fine. When you really start cranking on them they fail. My company orders them all the time, and being used and abused they do not last. For a project here and there should be ok.
Uh, it'll be the exact same Chinesium, except it'll come pre-abused and pre-busted.
That said, the HF unit will most likely work fine for what you want to do. It's a very simple tool.
The expensive stuff is great when you have very limited access (so things like sharp edges and precise geometry are important) or are dealing with extreme forces.
