Well another peice of junk will not start if its cold took the generator back and got another one the same thing hard to start in the cold bring can of either should of come in the box. I am not a big fan of hf the stuff you can see an evaluate in the store is good but when something has to run or has moving parts i dono I have heard good things about some air tools but i wonder if they are plants by sals people at the store . So if you need a 400 dollar boat anchor go to a marine store and get the real thing .

Does it come with a chinese spark plug? I know that problem has been raised on the smaller generators, and an NGK plug swap helped.

Oh, one other question. How old is your gas?
Yes, old gas can be an issue (less so, if you use a stabilizer), but here's another one to think of. Summer blend gas volatilizes more slowly than winter blend. If you bought your gas before October, I'd drain that into your car, and try some winter blend gas. It'll start easier in the winter.
Just a thought (and don't bother with this until you've put a real spark plug in there).
