We're getting a new Harbor Freight closer to home soon. Do they usually have specials sales beyond what the other stores or online have during the grand opening? I don't have a need for much from there at this point but if they usually have some screaming deals during the grand opening I may stop by and check it out.

They'll advertise a grand opening sale but you'll learn that they are always advertising new blowout prices, everything is always on sale there. The prices do vary though, usually at least every couple months they do have a sale that they discount even more. Theres a website called harbor freight coupon database that has coupons with the lowest price they do on any given item

Me and my 10 year old granddaughter went to HF this weekend, She asked me if they were going out of business. The sign said everything must go. I told her no, that's just HF, it always looks like they are going out of business...lol

Like anyplace, once it's been open for a bit, they'll have a 'open-box & returns' table. Stuff there is usually heavily-discounted. I got the larger flux-core welder from one of those tables, it looked like it had been powered-up, used very little and returned. I got it for a bit over $40. A couple of around the house jobs, and I got that out of it. It's the model that there are a bunch of youtube videos about hacking it for better results.

I was coerced into buying the Inside Track Club membership, but didn't bother renewing my membership, I didn't think I was buying enough of the sale items they offer, to make it worth my while. At the time, I was able to make one purchase that paid for most of the membership cost, so I got it.

I think HFT offers a good value for the $. Not everything they sell is gonna find its way into my home, but there are enough things they sell that it's worthwhile to shop there.

I was wondering the same thing when I heard they were opening a second store in my town last year so I paid special attention to the prices in the grand opening flyer. I did not notice any crazy deals, at least not on anything worthwhile.

Sounds like I can comfortably skip it then. Still a 45 minute drive each way but the other store is just over an hour each way so not worth wasting the gas to go see the same stuff for the same price as every other week.

Their grand opening sale was not nothing different then their every day sales was.
But you are right, they did have a person at the door trying to sell the inside track

They one near me has the open box and clearance shelf. They however are not discounted very much. When you take back a tool for warranty they open a new set and put the open set on the shelf and deduct the cost of the missing socket and maybe another dollar.

An HF store is about 3 miles from me and opened maybe 5 yrs ago. They have continuous sales...way more than any other stores you see. If you miss the sale price ask the manager to extend it for you. That worked for me with one of the large battery chargers on wheels.

HF always has stuff on sale. I never pay full price for anything there.

I try to make jokes with the people in the store how I am surprised they are having a big sale coming up. It would be cheaper to advertise when they aren't having a sale. Only buy one item at a time and get something free with every single purchase.

You can have the one that just infected my old home town. Come get it...please!

Absolutely.

Their merchandise is joke enough.
Ah you went and did it... you're going to trigger them... are you implying that an $11 set of wrenches isn't top quality, just as good as truck brands? Lol

My Harbor freight tools, get the job done exactly the same as my snap ons and I picked up a nice back up generator for $400 bucks.

I laughed all the way to the bank!

A lot of it is so cheap as it is, really need a sale? Surprised they don't pay customers to carry it out to the car. A lot of people seem to blame them for selling cheap. Heck, I think it proves they been getting robbed from others for years.
I have some snap wrenches, they are great and on occasion just the right thing but so are others in the collection, many have special attributes I look for at times but I use generic stuff including imports way more.
