I've seen them, but no experience with them. I'd like to know how they hold up as well. They look pretty dang close to the Makita, Probably all plastic internal gears, and the batteries and tools are at a pretty descent price point.

I've been thinking about getting the drill and impact to put in the tool bag in the truck so on that occasion I drive by the pick-a-part and decide to stop out of the blue I have an impact and drill with me which come in very handy in those yards.

I checked out all three lines (Earthquake, Hercules, Bauer) yesterday in the store for the first time. The Bauer are certainly the low end, but still not bad for the money. They appear to be tons better than anything they've offered prior. The Hercules seem to be a step up in quality, really nice and also competitively priced. However, the Earthquake 1/2" 20V impact seems to feel like a the real heavyweight. But it's priced so close to the Milwaukee version, I can't see them selling lots of them. all three levels are pretty impressive... at least just by first impression and handling them for a few minutes in the store.

All of that being said, I have tons of Milwaukee M12 and M18 versions (grinders, circular saws, drills, impacts, hacksaws, 90* drills, screwdrivers, etc), and I can't see me changing to the HF brands. I'd maybe consider them if I had nothing and didn't plan to go to Milwaukee or DeWalt.

I have the Hercules impact driver. I personally like the impact and it's held quite well so far. The impact has no problem breaking loose lug nuts and bolts. The 2.5ah battery seems okay. I'm going to buy a 5.0ah battery next time I go. And I might get the drill as well

The LED lights on the blue drill are a joke. Pretty dim and useless.
Maybe the battery was low, but it seemed to have a lot of kick when I tried to
stop the chuck with my hand.

My Dewalt brushed 1/4" impact driver will break lug nuts free with the 3/8" square drive adapter...not sure how, but it does a pretty good job of it. I'd expect any comparable impact driver to do the same.

I mean if we're talking about a smaller car outside of the rust belt that is regularly serviced.. Then yes.

I could very well be mistaken as I've never tried to put my impact driver on lugs, I've always just broken out my M18 high torque. And before that air, but if I had to guess it can't be very practical for lugs, it would probably take quite a bit of hammering away.

Yes gentlemen, I have been able to break lug nuts with it while using my 1/2 in adapter. I tried it for shits and giggles. I've tried it on a few vehicles (even one that's been sitting for 2 years) and also my 2 trailers.

I've had mine for a month but I've been using it everyday doing something. Whether it be wood screws, lag bolts, tek screws, nuts and bolts, lug nuts. I like it as much as the Milwaukee Fuel tools I have at work. Call me an idiot but so far it works. Once the 2yr replacement plan is up and the thing craps out on me then it's paid for itself and I'll go buy another one.
