I do believe that is a pipe bender and not a tubing bender. Pipe is measured I.d. and tubing o.d.

That is a pipe bender, not tubing. It has no place for use on a vehicle, if that is what you are thinking...

Bought one and it kinks pipe. Pipe slips up and out of the shoe and kinks, the sides of the shoes need to be a bit higher.

Actually its a tubing roller better for making hoops or big sweeping curves. My idiot brother bought one to try and buiild a roll cage with. He quickly found out what type of bending it does and it takes a ton of arm strength to get a 1 1/2" .095" wall tube to a 90 degree bend.

One of my buddy's did some mods to a HF tubing bender, turned some new dies for it and has built several motorcycle frames with it.. I've seen several how to's on modifying them..

A couple of people over on Pirate have made really sharp looking rounded cages with it. It is never going to do a true 90 deg bend.

There is company that makes upgrade parts for it. People seem to really like it once it is tweaked a little.

Technically it is a pipe bender.
They work good for thicker round material and if it works it is wel worth the $20 if you have a need.
One trick is to pack the tubing with sand and then bend nice and slow. That helps prevent the tube collapse.
Hell for $20 I would by it for the dies and make a new drake that bends the tube over the due like a hosfield bender does

i have one, it works for bending pipe, but it crushes and kinks tubing.

mine works a lot smoother after i cleaned all the casting marks off the shoe, lubed the roller pins, and use some lube on the shoe when bending.

i've used mine quite a few times.....

I made some stair rails from 1-1/4" black iron pipe, including a "joggle" offset. None of the bends were more than 40 degrees.

I also made some 30 degree bumpers from black iron pipe simialr to those that guide your tire into a car wash. These were to prevent tire damage while entering a narrow bridge. There was a small kink/blemish from the die, but they work perfectly.

Mine is a 12 ton unit.
