Spoke with someone at harbor freight and they said there will be a liftgate fee that I will have to cover. She said she sent an email to someone else about the fee and would get back with me monday. I asked about why it was not stated on the website and she said it should have been. Did anyone notice any additional fees other than the $96 freight charge?

Anyone actually getting tracking to work? If they want to charge a lift gate fee I'll have it delivered to my work a few miles away that has both a loading dock and several forklifts to use. I assume they'll call first, at least everything else I've had delivered like this has.

I asked about changing the delivery address and was told only the sender could. My tracking didn't work until last night.

I received my tracking number earlier in the week as I posted. But everytime I clicked on the link it failed to provide any updates until this morning. It showed delivery today which wasn't going to work out so well. I contacted the shipping company and within 10 minutes had everything lined up for a Monday morning delivery. I was very surprised they didn't bring up any type of conversation about a lift gate truck as it's coming to my home address.

In my experience with Conway Freight and Harbor Freight they have never charged me a liftgate fee, but I have never went asking either. You might want to watch what you ask for. I guess I can tell them they can figure out how to get it out of the truck without the lift gate and without damaging it :).

I received a call from Conway Freight today to schedule a Monday delivery. She asked if I had a dock, I said no this is a residence. She said she'd contact the shipper to see if they'll authorize a lift-gate.

We'll see on Monday.

From Conway's Tariff Guide...

Where carrier is required or requested to employ hydraulic lifting or lowering devices to accomplish pickup or delivery of the goods to or from carrier’s vehicle, an additional charge of $6.75 per 100 pounds, subject to a minimum charge of $131.50 and a maximum charge of $320.00, will be assessed upon the actual weight of the shipment or shipments for which such service is rendered, at one time.

The charges for this service shall be paid by the party for whom the service is performed, or guaranteed by the shipper. Carrier is not obligated to perform such service when suitable vehicles equipped with such devices and operators are not available. Service will only be rendered at such locations as are safe and accessible to the vehicle. Service requested under this item on the bill of lading will be assessed a charge. If the service is not performed, the charge will be cancelled.

I never said I required or requested them to use the lift, they could send 4 big guys to remove it from the truck for me :). I really don't get that I paid to have it delivered to my house. It should be delivered to my house, that is what I paid for. I was even charged extra shipping because of its size/weight. That should be all we are required to pay.

That's pretty easy. Recipient refused delivery and then there will be three dozen other people waiting to buy it when it gets back to HF

99% of a driver's deliveries are to commercial operations with docks. So you buy a blasting cabinet on clearance for 1/3 of the price and want the unloading covered to LOL

I know it isn't that easy but....

I just think this is like you send a package UPS and they decide when they get to the recipients house that they should charge for walking it to the door. No one was told up front and the recipients already paid for shipping and the shipper paid for it to be delivered to the recipients house.

To me Harbor Freight knows how they will deliver the items they sell and should state that a lift gate fee may be charged. Since they didn't specify that it should be on them. I have paid them for my items and for it to be delivered to my house.

This just seems like a racket to me if you are not told about it up front. I fully understand charging for the service for residential delivery but you should be told up front.

By unloading you mean lowering it 4' to the ground correct? That should cost $130???

OR you could pull out your tampon, put on your glasses, and read harbor freights shipping terms before you order next time.

...Overweight Items...Customers are responsible for all lift gate charges when shipped by truck line.
Lift-Gate Charge If you do not have the equipment to offload certain overweight items from the delivery truck, a truck with a lift gate must be assigned for delivery of your order. The lift-gate charge covers the cost of this special delivery. If you think you will need a truck with a lift-gate, please contact Customer Service Inbound Sales at 1-800-423-2567.

Mine was delivered this morning. The driver helped slide it into my truck bed. I tipped him $20 for his help which he initially would not take, but I when mentioned it was cheaper than gas money to drive to the terminal or pay a lift gate fee he graciously accepted. The driver was very courteous.

I backed my loaded truck back under the shop until I can get around to it. I have a dinner for my MIL's birthday which will prevent me from opening this evening.

The box is a nice plywood box. No signs of shipping damage......an easy transaction......

I'm extremely jealous of those that got this deal. Not that I need to spend the $400, but that is a sweet deal. Guess I'll get the cheaper one and use the 25% coupon.

Can you measure the box please? I won't be there when delivered and I'm trying to guide my friends on where to move it.

Is the deal gone,Link doesn't work and cab shows 1000 now?

I was able to call in last week and they would lower the price to $399 but would not add the extra 25% coupon stating that they had already discounted my purchase from $999. My price was $531 out the door with tax and shipping.

With that said, would anyone offer to email me their invoice or atleast their order number so that I can call customer service back and and explain that many people WERE able to apply the coupon to the $399 advertised price? I'd like to try to push them to adjust my order the extra coupon amount.

As quickly as this deal came and went, I'd imagine this was a screw up on someones part that got caught on Monday morning after the orders started getting processed. Good luck

So on Friday when I talked to Conway, the dispatcher told me between 8-10. And yes I know thier site says a 4hr window. Damn I hate wasting a day, should have just picked it up at the depot.

I agree, but I didn't call in until several days after the product was dropped from the website and they very well could have told me that the price was $999 period. They didn't seem to be aware of the "sale" price and I think they just ran with the $399 figure after I casually mentioned what a friend of mine had paid online.

In hindsight I should have told them it was listed at 299.

I'd still appreciate if anyone would send me their order information so I can push them a little further to refund the difference to me.

Not to hijack the thread but while we are on the subject of the blast cabinet, I also ordered the refrigerated dryer with it because 1) I live in Texas 2) I have heard really good things about this dryer 3) it was on sale and I used a 25% off coupon. Nothing is a greater frustration than trying to blast with wet air.

http://www.harborfreight.com/compressed-air-dryer-40211.html

The price was $277 after the 25% off coupon and shipping was $22 on top of that. It came on Saturday and I tested it out over the weekend. So far, so good. I will say that by the time you plumb up a manifold with valves, etc I blew another $60.

For the entire system of a cabinet, reclaim unit, and refrigerated dryer the price of $875 which is less than you can find for the blast cabinet.

On one of the forums I stumbled across when researching, was a guy who had one of the refrigerated dryers says that he sees the same item branded locally for $1200 under two different names. Their unit did carry a 2 yr warranty as opposed to the 90 day Harbor Freight so the warranty is worth something, but at that price you could replace it or repair at a large savings.

Got mine!

And I'm not sure what Im most impressed by, a smoking deal on a pretty decent cabinet or the packaging crate.. that thing is Badass, lol. Heck, that's gonna get disassembled n stored, lmao.

Also my irony definition for the day. I'm fortunate to have both a forklift and skidsteer for dealing with stuff. So I had no need for a liftgate. But my time like many others is precious, so confirming a two hour window on Friday made my day. Figured no later then 10am, I can head into the office and get s few things done. But nooooooo, dude doesn't get here till two. So I ask him, busy day?. He says nope, the liftgate broke and I was stuck at another drop off for the last five hours.

Yep, the crate is a keeper. Although mine did have one area that was cracked but no internal damage.

I just discovered this forum today. After reading the post I called Harbor Freight to ask if they would honor the price and they indicated that if I had an order #, phone # or email address of someone that had ordered they would attempt to look up the discounted price. If anyone is willing to help me out I would greatly appreicate it. My email is [email protected].

Thanks
Doug

My tracking doesn't work either. I received an email saying it shipped 6/4 and still nothing. I called Conway and they said they have not received the shipment. Called Harbor Freight and they told me it hasn't left the warehouse yet, but should arrive in the 10-20 business day window.

Same song and dance I received. I don't really care when it gets here... I just would like to know when it's going to arrive so I can plan for it. Oh well, guess I'll wait.
