Stopped by HF today for some cheapo black zip ties - hadn’t realized I was all out.

Saw these tool boxes in red, blue and black and they’re only $18.99 so I picked one. I’m thinking on my work bench for mini screwdrivers & Allen wrenches in one drawer. Maybe my smallest sized wrenches in the other. I’ll put a divider for metric vs. SAE.

Comes with black drawer liner pre-installed. Only potential downside I see is it’s not heavy something a drawer MAY pull the whole thing. We’ll see.

IF it works out I might get a 2nd one for small pliers.

Thread drift… be wary of HF zip ties in your intense SoCal sun.

They don’t last very long.

Experience.
Yes, I know. I don't use them for anything important at all. In this case it is tying an inherited metal trellis from my recently deceased sister's garden onto a wood post in an XL flower pot so it will stand up straight.

I don't think I've ever used a zip tie for anything actually important. I use them to tie closed the lids on plastic storage boxes in my shed so a mouse or rat can't easily get in. Fortunately we DON'T have rats like we did when we lived in Pasadena - it was an ongoing battle royal there. But I keep tying shut storage containers just in case.

Just for info - where or what type of zip ties would I buy IF I were concerned about longer term reliability? I think I read somewhere they should be.....nylon?

Ok, thanks! I actually DID do a search on "mini" tool boxes and this didn't come up.

Moderators, please close out this thread since it is redundant.

I took a quick look at the linked thread. I had no idea so many companies were offering them. I like the ideas I saw - markers, pens, contractor's pencils. Made me think of using one for all my (cheap) pocket knives, maybe my (cheap) watches too!
