That's not an American made Harley-Davidson on that lift is it?

I feel a nervous just looking at that, never mind putting my fingers near it.

Those lifts are a great value for the money. Put a better front wheel clamp on it, an improvement. It even has a rear wheel drop-out removable plate that my much-more-expensive pneumatic Handy-Lift doesn't.

Nothing to be afraid-of there, it's a great aid to working on bikes, and the price is very good. I have a friend who uses one in his shop daily, and he's never had any issues w/it, and it works well. He had two, and sold one when he moved. It sold quickly.

The bike looks like a late-model Low Rider.

Yes it would make much more sense if they were lifting a Honda on it

I've had one in my shop for close to 20 years. It's probably the most used piece of equipment in the shop. I use it as my primary work bench. Right now there's a small block Chevy waiting to be torn down for inspection and a Miata transmission that I just rebuilt sitting on it.

It's great for loading and unloading stuff from the back of the pickup truck. I've used it for dropping the driveline out of Corvairs. I've had a complete Corvair body sitting on. I use it as an in-feed table for the band saw. Sometimes I even work on a motorcycle on it.

They work fine. It's not the best lift out there, but they get the bike off the ground reliably and safely.

On the other hand, my bike weighs less than a Honda Civic, unlike the Harley (which is made from domestic & import parts).

Shots fired!

I don't have the room for one, or I would have one. They're great lifts.

I'm an Italian guy myself...

Nice ride. I like a mix of pavement and dirt, so I have a DL650 aka Suzuki V-Strom. I'd like to have an American bike in my garage, but I'm not interested in cruisers.

Also don't have room to store a lift but have been on plenty of forums with guys that have the HF lift and have a good friend that is a Ducati/BMW guy who has one and I've never heard of a problem. The front wheel vise needs to be replaced as soon as it comes out of the box but otherwise it's solid. It does look shaky I admit.

I'm making do with front and rear stands. Make some room for the German bikes.

I don't know anyone that has the HF lift. I talked to the guy that tuned my bike and he wasn't in support of that purchase.
I have a 900lb Road Glide that I want a lift for.
I have seen what some guys have added to them and the seem ok. However after all of the additions why not just buy something else? Im still up in the air about it

I've had one for years and it was my dad's before that who actually used it on his bikes. 2011 KTM 990 and a 2007 Ducati 1098. I use it to load and unload tool boxes from a truck and it's rock solid with 250lb me and the box on it. It's loaded everything from the older MB7525 pictured below to the mid 90s KRL1001 to the late 2000 KRL1001's.

They allowed the 25% off coupon too when he bought it.

Yeah, everything I've read about them says they're not to bad. A couple of simple mods and apparently its a pretty good lift.

As many have said, great lift for the money and diy mechanic. 20% coupons don’t work on the lifts and if anyone gets one don’t spend over $299 because you can get that price and even $279 coupons most any day of the week. I’m fortunate and live in NH so no sales tax.

I throw out the clamp and bought HF wheel chock.

If money was no object then ya i’d get the handy lift for sure. I’m not so fortunate though.

EDIT: your father must have bought his long ago because they don’t allow that anymore unless he knows people who knows people. Good for him.

Get a Motus lol. I can't afford it.

I was a supermoto guy for like 10 years. Got tired of working on them. My last SM was a 2013 KTM 500 EXC, with full Ohlins forks/shock/triple clamps, the whole way. About $10k in parts.

I frickin love Pitbull stands. I have a cheaper pair. But I have the Pitbull trailer restraint system I use in my van.

Another good option (the one I'll probably use) is the Apex Mfg. portable table. It's aluminum, and fold-able.

I've got one, use it all the time for the 400lb KLR650, repairing the snowblower, as an extra bench, etc.

I wouldn't trust it to stated capacity, but it works great and the price is right.

I'm thinking about getting one...but like what was said above...I'm making it with front and rear stands...but that table would make a welcome addition...

I've really been thinking of a low height workbench and this gives me an idea...

I could build a bench on it to get to 34" when it's fully raised and have an adjustable height work bench. I have a midlift I use sometimes but I also park over that. If I ever see a used one it will seal the deal.

Using the lift as a dock is genius. I never thought of that. I have one of the lifts as well. It is one of the best purchase I have ever made. I have many bikes,
and several bikes under restoration at any one time, I am actually contemplating buying another of these lifts.

I recently bought one after seeing the thread on here with the guy unloading his toolbox from pickup with it. So far one of the best purchases i've made in awhile. I've been using it for yard equipment, atv's and small dirtbikes. It sure beats bending over to work on that sort of stuff.

I figured i'd just lean it up against the wall to save space when not in use, but its great to just have it set up as another workbench. It wheels around real easy also.

I have had one for about three years.

Did lots of mods to it, including removable side extensions and also recessed it in the floor !

Seems the consensus is that the Chinese bike lift is up the task of lifting the half Chinese Harley. Hoping to have the room next time they hit $280.

In the past at the Yam/Kawi shop used Handyindustries and they were 1,000 lb or 1,200 lb can't remember - made in USA.

I have a VERY hard time believing that one pictured for $299 could lift and not collapse with 1,000 lbs. I am sure it could hold like a 2 stroke race bike, but I would still rather use something I would have confidence in. I would buy an electric one if it was me... NOT a HareFreight one

I would never lift a bike like an expensive German streetbike at both ends with front and rear stands, and put any-sort of lateral pressure on it.

The HFT stand weighs under 300 lbs. and is rated at 1,000 lbs. Even a 2018 H-D Ultra Limited weighs less-than 900 lbs. Plenty of reserve. I have a Handy-Lift and use it more as a workbench than as a bike lift, and I have many bikes.

Get a Motus lol. I can't afford it.

Friend of mine has one modded with heavy casters we use for pulling transmissions or transfer cases on pickup trucks in the driveway. Makes a clutch job way easier.
