I've reviewed several items via their site now, giving either a 4 or 5 star, without mention of COO, price paid, or anything in that regard. Still, HF refuses to publish my reviews. Is it because I refuse to sign up for Facebook?

Both products only had a few reviews, so it's not like there was "enough" or too many.

i have the same issue with sears.com but they dont publish my 1,2 or 3 star reviews. but they do publish my 4 and 5 star reviews

its fine, if they dont want my reviews i just dont give them anyone. I rarely read any reviews from hf, sears, lowes, or home depot, due to the censorship(maybe too strong of a term, it is there website after all) they impose.

I've never actually had an issue with Sears.com...always posted no matter what the rating.

Tusting reviews on a buisnes website is like trusting a waitress when she says "everything is good".

If you want unbiased reviews find a site that does independent reviews or a forum like this one.

Harbor Freight does not post all reviews, whether good or bad.

I'm not convinced they are trying to influence their ratings. There are plenty of bad reviews posted on their site.

I've posted quite a few reviews on Sears without any issues as well. They have plenty of reviews on their site that have unfavorable ratings.

Harbor Fright has always taken a few days to publish reviews, but they have not published the last 5/6 reviews I have given them over the past year or so. They used to really censor their reviews, I left a few bad ones, and they wouldn't publish them, especially if you said their price was too high. Tried once on Sears/Crapsman, they want you to have an account or something.

Never thought of going to Epinions, I thought they only had car reviews. Thanks for the heads up.

Me too.I have seen bad ones but I bought a tractor/ATV lift and the modified bottle jack that lifts it was DOA. I returned it and wrote a review.Today I took a look to see how common the problem is. There were something like 576 reviews in chronological order, starting with the newest.
I went back for months and saw nothing but 5 star ratings. What are the odds of perfect satisfaction by so many people with not so much as a minor gripe.

Amazon posts good and BAD reviews for sure. There are lots of products I have steered clear of due to the 1 star reviews posted.

Yes, I'm aware this is an ancient thread, but thought I'd ask whether other Harbor Freight customers are still having trouble getting reviews posted.

When I tried to post my last two reviews, several months apart, after pushing the "submit" button, I got a message that said something like "We encountered an issue with your review, and are working to solve the problem." Using the back arrow on the browser returned me to the product page, but of course everything I'd written had disappeared.

So, for the record, here are summary versions:

--double flare tool kit, used on 3/16" brake lines. First flaring die bent. Returned kit to HF and second die broke on first use. Bought better dies online, but still having problems because the threaded holes in the tool to hold the brake line aren't at right angles to the surface. Verdict: 1.5 stars.

--steel shop car with three shelves. The nuts and bolts are **** quality and too small, and mine were an interesting mix of SAE and metric sizes. Instead of mounting holes in the steel components, there are mounting slots (presumably to allow for stamping errors -- GM used to design its cars the same way), so after a while the bolts will all start to loosen and the cart will take on the rigidity of Jell-O. However, the wheels are much higher quality than you'd expect, the stampings and holes are correct (it doesn't NEED slots), and the paint is good. Verdict: 3.5 stars.

My problem is that every time I write a review of an HF tool, I forget that mine never get accepted. The joys of age ... (Also, just for the record, Home Depot ALWAYS rejects my reviews -- even the good ones.)

you can get real reviews on this site and that's all that matters

No idea how the process works, but as a guy who shops there on occasion, I completely ignore their reviews.

Nothing against HF, I just don't trust a company that makes and sells their own stuff exclusively (for the most part) to be good at reviewing.

HF posted my reviews so I don't know why others aren't...but I don't give much credit to any online reviews anyway. My daughter used to work for a guy who was paid by companies to go on the web and do reviews or post to keep new website forums active. He had 300+ websites that reviews were churned on at that time. He made a fortune doing it too.
