It seems harbor freight has changed some models and put the old in the open box area. My store had their stuff half off yesterday. Check it out.

The only times I've found bargains at HF has been on products still on the shelves, with yellow clearance tags. The best deals were when I followed an employee putting up the yellow tags, pretty much competing with other employees.

Items in the open box area are typically missing pieces, with a minor discount from full retail. That's often significantly higher than the current sale price or coupon price.

When I do go to harbor freight, I swing by th clearance section to see what is broken and being returned that way I know what not to buy. Anything that gets returned at my local store gets put in the clearance section.

Local HF, clearance items missing 1/2 parts, 10% off.

That's the way the one here usually is. They probably wonder why they never sell that stuff. If you have a coupon the damaged stuff is usually more expensive.
