It appears that you shouldn't do it... Ordered $28 worth of stuff they didn't have at the store when I went and 9 days later it still hasn't shipped...lol!

I ordered a couple of the heavier aluminum fold up work stands from HF a few years ago because they only stocked the lighter duty ones in the stores. My experience was excellent and arrived quickly. Maybe HF's online ordering has changed, or might be that your item was out of stock at time of order?

On the other hand I ordered a 50 ton press and got it in 10 days for the $6.99 FedEx shipping. I used a 25% off coupon on that one. Guess I got lucky. Also ordered 4 car dollies (the fancy pump up ones) and they arrived within a week for $6.99 shipping for all 4 of em. Admit I've ordered replacement parts and waited an eternity.

I've had excellent results ordering and receiving the stuff pretty quick for the normal $6.99 shipping fee. Granted I'm down stream from the Camarillo warehouse so it may flow faster downhill. Perhaps the stuff you ordered is still on a boat from China?

Same here. :rocker:

ALL of my HF purchases have been online, a few thousand dollars' worth, and I've had an excellent success rate, prompt shipping, and excellent customer service. I've had two issues, one was something missing in a shipment (two pairs of gloves), and the other was a caliper tool which arrived broken. In each case they promptly issued me a credit without any grief or requiring a return.

I have horrible luck ordering online with HF. Takes forever and half the time the website rejects my order and I have to re-do it. I have made out on the $6.99 shipping except the last few times I tried it wanted to charge me full shipping prices for I didnt order.

UPDATE:

My order did show but they never sent out the shipment notice with tracking info the order e-mail said would follow when it shipped. Nine days of limbo... not a life and death situation but I give them a C grade for this one...

I don't order from them a lot, but so far it is 50/50 as far as getting what I ordered when they say I will get it. As such I don't order anything from them that is time sensitive.

This thread has brought to light a most tragic tale. And, no doubt, provided helpful insight for those who have very limited life experience.

Thank you, so much, for sharing.

The only thing I ever ordered from their site was a truck bed extender for hauling long boards and stuff. If I remember right, it shipped pretty quick. I think I had it within a week of placing the order.

It's Harbor Freight, not Amazon...

I've ordered a few things from them... Usually the item is already in transit by the time I get a tracking number...

My dad used to order stuff from them before there were any stores. 6-8 weeks was the standard delivery time.

I too bought those pump up dollies. Took four days driving back and forth to the store each day to get one with a 20% off coupon. Fortunately it's not a long trip.

The few times I have ordered online; delivery time, shipping charges, and the condition in which the goods arrived were quite acceptable.. Each order saved Me a 200+ mile round trip to Fargo,ND., but the store doesn't stock everything I ordered anyway. So, unless the plan is to drive to Fargo for other reasons; and drop in at Harbor Freight while in town; it has worked well for Me to place an online order.

I ordered a tumbler and some media, since the nearest store is 240 miles away.

The media arrived in a week. Not as fast as Amazon, but OK.

The tumbler was on back order. I got nervous and called customer service. The agent found my order quickly and gave me a tracking member. The tumbler was on my porch that afternoon.

I don't know why their system didn't provide shipping updates and a tracking number without my call.

I was looking at buying their 2-ton cherry picker. Since it's an hour drive to the nearest store, I checked into online ordering to see what shipping would cost. $6.99 shipping? That's less than I'd pay for gas to take the truck to the store, let alone drive back. Since I don't 'need' it in any time frame I may just order it. Along with that red 5-drawer cart that I don't 'need' but now I want one after reading the mods thread.
