Hi all.

Earlier today I stated that I am Canadian of vaction here in America and was going to Harbor Freight. I had asked for some suggestions on what to buy.

Well I'm back I got the Pittsburg slide hammer it was on clearance for 29 bucks. Back home at princes auto they carry the identical tool under there store brand Pro point witch retails for 139.99. I also got some brushes and Allen wrenches.

You're gonna have to go back-you forgot a bunch of stuff-like the boxes of nitrile gloves, the ceramic knives, the HVLP paint spray guns, the welding clamps..........etc,etc...

Glad you were able to save some money on things you needed. Not a bad vacation if you get to visit a tool store. I wish I had more vacations like that.

That is cheap, I'd have bought it also for 29.00. All vacations should include a new tool purchase.

Thanks for sharing.

I never realized until today, there are no HF stores in Canada.

I'm so lucky to be American. :)

Visiting Epstein on vacation would be :shocking:. Visiting HF on vacation would be :headscrat :)

Really need to convince the wife that we need to visit KC, Mo.

I imagine going into a Harbor Freight for the first time would be like a Fisherman going to Bass Pro Shop the first time. Enjoy your stay in the States.

Not exactly, Bass Pro Shop smells better.

You got that right, those stores do stink. :)

I am glad you enjoyed you first visit to harbor Freight, did you get a free item for shopping there?
I know the first time I went into a harbor freight, I was over whelmed. For years it was just almost a 2 hour drive just to go there. I used to see their stored when we were on vacation and traveling and had to stop to see what we could find.

If you can find them on clearance at a local store, the Pittsburgh branded bearing press kit, seal/race driver kit... all depends what you need or want..

This is making me think of my first HF visit. It looked like a wonderland, I hadn't seen half that stuff before, it was pretty cool. I don't really go there anymore, but it sure helped me get equipped quickly at one time. Glad you enjoyed your visit OP.

Thanks for the update. After reading so much about Harbor Freight on here, it must have been cool to visit. Is it similar to Princess Auto?

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the US and folks were friendly.

Were you able to find anything in stock that was made in the USA?

I don't get the question .

1. He's a Canadian citizen that could have bought a Chinese made slide hammer kit(Pro-Tool) at Princess auto for $140 or a Chinese made slide hammer kit(Pittsburgh) at Harbor Freight for $40 ..

There are actually a bunch of things at Harbor Freight "Made in U.S.A." , just an fyi.

I'm sure you're visiting these forums on an American built computer or American built Smart phone too.

Do you have to drive very far?

I remember when it was catalogue only then they built one 30 miles away and now I have one in Michigan City Indiana just 12 miles from my house.

some people have inferred that this was my first time at harbour freight.......in fact it was my second. Last we my wife was pregnant so insteed of the annual family trip to Florida we stayed home for a stay cation. We took a day trip to Port Lampton were I saw my first harbour freight. but it was over a year ago.
