Harbor Freight Radiant Heater LP adapter

Just purchased this heater and since this is from China the regulator has the old POL tank fitting. Can't change the pig tail because the regulator is variable, that's how your regulate the heat. It does not not have a separate regulator, it's part of the tank fitting. So I need female POL to female OPD adapter and it doesn't seem to exsist. My state will not fill a POL equipped cylinder. What does everyone do?

Is POL the issue, or is it the age of the tank?

Anyway, search Amazon, and others. There are all sorts of fittings and adapters available.

the valves have the pol threads inside, don't they?
thats how they fill them here.

newer OPD's with the external male threads are backward compatible. they are tapped with the old POL valve internally. that's what we do. Although, I also have a stock of varous gas grill valves/regulators, and have routinely removed the POL (it's just pipe thread) and switched them around on various regulators for convenience...if you go that route, use the proper Teflon tape/pipe dope for propane...
