Hey all,

Just received a recall on the harbor freight pnumatic roller seat. I know many don't have their emails registered to your purchases and may not receive the notice.

Here is the email:

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
February 9, 2022
Dear Valued Customer:
This letter is to notify you of a PRODUCT RECALL on select models of the Pittsburgh Automotive Pneumatic Roller Seat sold by Harbor Freight Tools. Harbor Freight Tools is issuing this recall with the cooperation of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Pictures of the roller seat are shown below. The roller seats were sold between July 2014 and September 2021. Our records indicate that you purchased one or more of these items.
This recall is being conducted because in certain units, the connection between the seat and the seat post can break, posing a fall hazard to users. IMMEDIATELY STOP USING THIS ITEM, CHECK THE LIST BELOW TO SEE IF YOUR PRODUCT IS ONE OF THE AFFECTED UNITS AND IF SO, RETURN THE ROLLER SEAT(S) TO YOUR NEAREST HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS STORE FOR A CHOICE OF A REPLACEMENT ROLLER SEAT OR A REFUND IN THE FORM OF A HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS GIFT CARD (EVEN IF THERE IS NO APPARENT PROBLEM).

I had one but think I bought mine before the recall date. I used it for a few years. It was junk and I hated it. Wheels liked to fall off and it liked to tip over all the time. Eventually I paid about $130 for a much higher quality one I still have. I threw the HF one away.

This recall is being conducted because in certain units, the connection between the seat and the seat post can break,.. Mine did exactly that within a month of buying it. I took it back and they gave me a new one and I put self-tapping screws in the flange to prevent this one from doing it..

No problem here, I just put a set of their jack stands under the seat for addition safety.
I had a 6 ton and a 3 ton set of those. The 6 ton was the old orange paint style they had that I bought about 20 years ago. The lady was trying to say it was not theirs but they would do the credit for me with one of their item numbers. Told her the item number on it was actually in their recall notice. I had to show her that they used a letter digit and then the item number "back in the day". She put the number in without the letter and it worked. Ended up with a $95 credit which had to be more than I paid for the 2 sets. Bought some stands with the extra cross pin that blocks the extension.
