Was in HF this afternoon picking up the slim LED light and looked around some. I noticed these in the socket section and they caught my eye. Satin finish, decent shoulder, and knurling that is deep and USEFUL. Seriously, this design blows away most that are out there IMO, even the 'big boys'. I have no interest in spline drive and this isn't about how they'd hold up. But I gotta admit, nice looking sockets.

Uhhh, everybody knows that you aren't actually supposed to attach HF sockets to ratchets and turn bolts with them. So your point sir, is moot...

People **** on HF but they actually got some fairly alright tools, especially if you have one close for warranty.

Interesting, think these sockets are sold in the UK branded Sealey:

The picture shows chrome, but I have a sealey set in that blasted finish.

They look alright, I bet they were fairly well priced too. Spline sockets are handy & capable of turning a bunch of different fasteners from e-torx to square. Handy to have a set tucked away.

Silly cheap at $9.99 for the metric set. Throw in one of their ubiquitous coupons and...

Nice larger size stampings too

Spline grips far better than 12 point sockets.
That's simply not true. The "advantage" of spline drive is the number of fasteners that they fit on. Usually poorly fit on. Most brands claim they work on squares.. Have fun.

Spline fit spline fasteners best...

The ones I have will turn a fastener that a 12 point will spin freely on.

They engage the fastener at roughly the same place however like 6 point more material needs to be moved before they'll spin freely.
