This is a dumb question but I know over the years I've creeped this site with google searches and I know I've seen the harbor freight boxes mentioned. So maybe someone knows the answer my aging mind has forgot.

About a year and a half ago I bought the 56 inch 11 drawer General box from harbor freight. It retails for $799. I know I bought it while on discount, but when it was said and done I had it shipped to my door for a total of close to $600. I can't remember what I did to get that price. Any tightwads out there remember. I'm so happy with it, Im ready to buy one for my shop at home.

If you want to maximize your Harbor Freight purchases you need to use coupons, discounted gift cards (bought with a cash back credit card) and click through cash back when ordering online.

I would imagine you used some if not all of those. You won't be able to use a percentage off coupon on a chest but there are item specific coupons for them.

I was looking back and I figured out what it was. I used one of the coupons which brought it down to 699. Shipping was an additional 85. When I asked why I couldn't just pick it up in the store and just pay the 699, they dropped the price to $614 and didn't charge me the shipping. I was confused, but happy.

I see on the 10% off coupons that are listed everywhere, you can use them to buy a tool box. the fine print at the bottom. that was a resent change or else i haven't noticed it before.

I waited for months to find a coupon on one, they dont do it really It goes on sale for 349 or 369 or 359 thats it. Back a few years ago they let you use coupons and I kick myself for not nabbing one then.

Pretty sure that you meant to type "can't" use them to buy a tool box. This has been around for a few years now.

I used the 44inch $369 coupon from them at the weekend with no issues.

The coupon works but shipping to me is just about $100. I'd like to get an original coupon for use to go pick up at the store. Can you tell me where you got this?

Thanks,
Tom

Just take a pic of that coupon with your phone and show it to the cashier. All they need is the number.

If I am not mistaken I saw a Harbor Freight coupon awhile back for 20 percent off on any one item. I have no idea if that coupon is still valid, but if it is it would certainly be worth using.

James, those are very common bit not for use on toolboxes. I got my 44" for $200 because the cardboard box was damaged. Maybe call around and ask if they have one like that.

You can't use those coupons for toolboxes? I had thought you could use those coupons for anything they sold. Now I am wondering why they don't allow you to use those coupons for toolboxes.

Likely because the margins of the toolbox at 20% less than the "sale" price isn't enough to turn a profit still.

Does anyone have a current coupon for the $699 special for this box? A google search does provide some coupons but nothing current.

I stopped by this weekend to get the 56" toolbox and all the local stores are out of stock and nothing on order. I think they might be refreshing the product or making something new. Anyone have any insight on the 56" toolbox future?
