Harbor Freight Tool Cart Surprise

Last weekend I purchased a HF 5 drawer tool cart for my father for a Christmas gift. I looked at the floor model cart in the store, it had the same crinkle finish as the 41" toolbox. I wasn't a fan of the finish, but it is a work cart after all, not a showpiece.

Fast forward to tonight: I open the box to the cart I bought to assemble it and to my surprise, it's glossy red!!! When I saw this, I was very happy!!!

Ugly Pinkish Crinkle Red has the yellow/red box labelling.

Smooth Red has the grey/red box labelling.

All of the stores that I've been in recently (Syracuse NY, Trenton NJ, Newark DE) have only had the grey/red labelled boxes, so presumably the smooth red is the currently shipping version of this cart. I got my smooth red one in Sept at the Syracuse store, but during that same sale the DE store only had the crinkle pinks.

I have been using this cart since August and it has become my favorite item in the garage! Yep mine is pink but it matches my other pink 41" boxes. lol

I bought one in the Detroit area and it was the glossy red. I was hoping it was the flat finish to match the tool box. Oh, well, the glossy is really nice.

The sales lady at my local HF store said they would not be stocking the crinkle finish carts anymore.

Eastlake Ohio has the orange/red gloss now too, but Lima Ohio still had crinkle last weekend when I was on travels. Anyone know if there are any rumors that the 41" box will transition into smooth orange/red as well? It would soften the blow of dissapointment for not purchasing pre 20% coupon.

Ditto.

I am not a fan of the red, but gloss black would definitely make me consider this thing. I don't have many tools now anyways, so it looks to be enough space for what I need.
