What one are you looking at? And what applications? From what Ive seen they all work, but I would not test their limits, I have seen several bent or with blown seals.

If you're going to buy one make sure you don't pay full price. There is usually a coupon or sale going on.

I have the low profile 2.5 ton jack. Best jack ive ever owned. Definitely dont pay full price for them, they always have a sale going on of a coupon is out there somewhere.

Scan craigslist for a hein warner or an old blackhawk. You will be glad.

i have a 1.5 ton aluminum jack from there; its the bees knees for almost everything
i did max it out on an explorer the other day

I have the smallest one they make, the 1.5 ton (which is on sale right now for $70) and I have zero complaints. I plan on getting the 2 ton as soon as they put it on sale for use with my larger SUV.

I bought one from HF 2 ton aluminum jack like 10 years ago love it, just the other day I needed to add oil for the first time

+2or3 on the aluminum floor jack I have had one for 5 years it has never let me down yet.
I bought one of the 2.5 ton low profile jacks after seeing a local hole in the wall tire shop using HF jacks. I really like it, big improvement over the trolly jack I had before.
I really like the low profile one, when using my HF engine hoist getting the foldable arms down and locked is a bit of a chore, with my low profile jack I can slide it under and add a little lift to lower the arm to lock it in place.

The nice thing about the aluminum jacks is they weigh half as much as the normal steel ones. That is nice, but I needed and wanted a 20" or so lifting height and the smallest aluminum one only went to 14", the next one was double the cost and went to 18", wasn't wanting to spend that much.

Sounds wierd and uncool but watch for sears sales (particularly stackable coupons). I got a chinese craftsman 3.5 ton jack I'm quite pleased with, it looks a lot like the HF ones but was cheaper than their best coupon sale price. IE around $60.
You are much better off to scan Craiglist for a few years and pick up a quality (at one time) jack with a minor leak or lifting issues. People routinely let them go for $20 to $40 off the original full retail prices, and you get the benefit of learning how to bebuild and paint a jack instead of just driving to HF, spending $80 and lifting your car the same day.
