Using 1/2 harbor freight torque wrench and busted a tooth on it. Opened it up and one of the pawls is messed up as well. Anyone ever warranty one of these from Harbor Freight? Any suggestions or advice will be much appreciated.

The only experience I've heard first hand on this was 100% positive. Walk in, lay it down, grab another, walk out.
As for suggestions I'd say just be nice. I'm pretty sure it's policy to replace it no hassles, but those policies can applied sporadically at many retailers.

A proto pear head kit will fit. That's what I did with mine.

The warranty states 1 year for torque wrenches. I would point out the torque portion is fine, the ratchet head was bad. They would warranty at that point, now I made the hybrid.

Yeah I was thinking of replacing it with a Proto Kit myself but was unsure of fitment. Will decide tomorrow on my course of action.

I just swapped it out today with no issue whatsoever. Thanks for the replies.

How did you take apart the HF torque wrench? And did the new proto kit help with binding/how stiff the handle tends to be after moving up or down a few turns? (I assume not since it's only the ratcheting mechanism.)
