Harbor Freight US General Series 2 order only?

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 58" gen 2 cabinet from HF. Now I am considering either a 44" or 56" top chest. At the store I used, I had to order the 56" (blue) and wait a few weeks. Is this standard for all of the 44"+ cabinets now? Do the stores tend to carry any of these in stock, or are they all order only. I thought I'd check here first before calling around. Thinking about either the 56" or 44" top chest (in blue). If I have to order, I'll go with the 56, but would seriously consider the 44 if I could find it in stock for immediate pickup.

At least a few months back I had to order my Orange 44" stuff. Your local store should be able to search and let you know if any other stores have what you want.

Might just be a display space issue. Perhaps coincidentally the register guy told me they were soon implementing a new procedure. He said Sometime soon they’ll be allowing you to order anything in the catalog and have it shipped free to the store.

With all the new colors they are probably limited in stock of any particular one on hand. Four sizes, and each in 7 or 8 colors, their whole stock room would be filled just keeping 2 of each on hand.

I just bought a 44" and a 26" tonight, wanted red, second choice blue, went with my third choice of black because that was the only color matching between the two.

Rolled around back to get loaded up and the guys said they goofed, the inventory showed the 44" in red and black, but the black one was actually blue. The 26" was only in black or blue, so I reverted back to my second choice of blue. I was pretty happy about that. Just finished rolling them into the shop and the only damage was caused by me running the 44" box into a corner.

Not too bad, just a scratch, I think I can touch it up and buff it out. I'm sure it won't be the last one.

If you want it to match, that is probably your best bet. When I got mine their stock room was pretty packed, so it wasn't like they had been cleaned out by the sale weekend, leaving me with a small picked over selection.

I was looking for a 56" blue top chest a few months ago, and none of the stores around me had them in stock. I don't think many of the stores stock the top chests, and if they do it's probably just the red or black.

I can picture the Fargo, ND HF stocking every color of every cart and box. Off hand; I come up with about 56 boxes. With My luck, they would have 55 boxes on display; having just sold the one I drove 100 miles to purchase.

I went to look at the 26" boxes this weekend. In my store the only matching pair they had was blue. They had red and black cabinets with no top. For the other 3 colors, they had barcode cards sat out that said presale but no fulfillment date.

I bought a green 44" during the "parking lot sale" a couple weeks ago, and they said it won't be in until September 8th. I have four HF stores within an hour's drive from me and none of them carry the newer colors. They may not even have the regular (black, red, blue) colors due to lack of warehouse space at each store. The store I purchased at, did an inventory search of all of the other stores in the area and nothing green was in stock. The nice thing is that they do ship to the store for free, so all I have to do is wait for a call and I can go get it.

I went to my HF when they had the sidewalk sale two weekends ago and picked up the good version of the blue 56" box in stock.

Maybe HF is trying to sell as much of the US General stuff as they can before releasing the Icon boxes next month... They seem to be aggressively pricing the 44s as of late - another coupon is out for every color:
