I checked out the Icon line on the website. For about 3k, I can get the box AND get it delivered to my door. As much as I want another SO box, I think ICON might be the current winner.

To be clear, I absolutely want another SO box. I used one for years and loved it. However, that was a previous life and my occasional weekend use I can't justify the cost. If I start wrenching on my Jeep daily then I am getting a SO for sure.

Last year at SEMA, HF announced the new Icon gen2 boxes that are supposed to be released this fall sometime. If you hold out a little bit, you might get a deal on a gen 1 or get the upgraded gen2

whether you buying icon or us general you ideally want be maxing out any offer/coupon code deals to the max .
Personally I would go used snapon mac matco justification being if you do a good buy used it always worth what you put into it thus never really loose any money ... the other plus is you always feel happier with a proper nice quality era truck box.
Only way I get happy feeling out of HF boxes is if it a dirt cheap coupon buy and those days pretty much long gone back on the series 2 boxes, series 3 more money for potentially a worse product .
ICON still has some potential for fairly good deal prices but if I going be spending several thousand I'd rather go used market with it whenever possible ...

You understand why this isn’t helpful for someone looking to spend $1700 on a toolbox right? That can be a lot of money for some people. And some people care about the stuff they buy. Thats why they post questions on the internet.

It’s just like folks looking for cars and people saying they are all the same. They all just take you from point A to point B.

Literally every decent SO box 54"+ is $3k-$10k in the DFW. I get everyone on here except for me and the OP are estate sale/FBM ninjas and find everything for 90% off but thats not the reality we live in... you keep telling people to wait for a perfect deal but not everyone wants to wait years and most would like new with the opportunity to pick out the color they want.

I have a Snap On box. KRA series with some chick motorcycle drag racer. Angellea i think?

It's not very good quality all considering. I paid $1000 for top, bottom and side cab.
It's shallow too,I think only 18"

The $400 24" Deep Husky boxes I have are a bit better built and drawers work better.

Id get rid of the Snappy for something better setup. Need a few more deeper drawers.
