I have 3 pairs of HF Pittsburgh Pro pliers (2 needlenose and 1 lineman) and I do like them. I keep them in my work toolbag with my cheaper tools. The jaws on them line up much better than the standard HF pliers and the handles are comfortable. So if you need extra pliers, I highly recommend them. That being said, I do own several pairs of Klein and Channelock as well.

I own 3 differenty HF Pro Pliers and like them all. I recently broke the tip off of my Craftsman needle nose and while at HF, saw the pro pliers. I purchased them and so far they have worked nicely. tj

Harbor Freight is the Chinese Snapon.

With Snapon sometimes you see something and think, wow that's great, I want that, then you look at the price and YIPES.

With Harbor Freight sometimes you see something and think, wow that's great, I want that, then you look at it store and YUCK.

Look over the tools carefully, and if they seem like they will do the job buy them, but keep your receipt. All the HF hand tools are lifetime warranty, but sometimes they like to see the paperwork.

I too have been sucked in by the siren-song of cheap HF Pro pliers. I have about eight pairs of various styles: slip-joint, water pump, side cutters, etc.

The handles feel fine, and they work "OK", but if there's any humidity to speak of, these things will pick up surface-rust like a Mofo. All you have to do is breathe on them and they start turning brown.

Slowly, but surely, my HF stuff is being replaced with C'Man Pro and Knippex.
