I've got the low profile HF jack and have had good luck with it until recently. a few weeks ago, the T handle started spinning. I noticed that the screw that threads in to the base was missing and when I found it, it appeared marred up so I went to Lowes and matched it up and installed the new one. Everything has been fine for a few months but I noticed it's getting loose again. I'm trying to look for ways to repair it so I don't need to buy a new one. I'm guessing the threads are jacked up. I don't have a tap and die set and didn't know if there were any better suggestions. I thought a longer bolt would grab clean threads and be good but the problem with that is that the bolt can't be too long because it will bottom out on the rod that tightens and releases the jack. I think the bolt is .5"

Anyways, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Buy a single tap at the store for a size that is a little bigger than the bolt you have.
Often you can go from metric to an SAE size that will be slightly bigger.
Buy the matching bolt and this time locktite it in
