got a link?Just watched a video of a guy doing rear bearings on a 2001 3 series and it looked like a great tool.
Same guy but the second time he had to replace them he bought the HF tools! '
I've got the kit the OP mentions. Have had it about 3 months so far. Use it at least once a week in industrial environments. No issues so far. It was on sale and I used a 25% off coupon to bring the price down further.
after he has the hub off, and had the PVC pipe in there, what did he do, put washers and the nut ,behind the bearing, then thread the puller shaft into the nut?got a link?
Is it this one?

Must not be,
I did the job with no special tools. Well, the only "special" tool I used is found in your plumbing department.

Good to know, Thanks,We have that kit at work. Haven't used the puller, but used the separator a few times and it works just fine.
i have to wonder re; the bearing only lasting 20,000 miles. If he did not apply pressure to the inner race, instead of the outer only when sucking the bearing in.
If that did not possibly lead to the bearing failing. Maybe not, hard to tell just where the force was applied.
