Hard Handle Speeder ?

Has anyone ever / is it possible to put hard handle on a speeder? Specifically a Snap On 1/4" drive. I know SO made a special edition that had one.

Not trying to reinvent anything. I would like to put a hard handle on a 1/4" straight handle speeder because I would like to have a hard handle on it. It's got nothing to do with price or availability of straight handle speeders.

Ask your Snap-on guy. Maybe he can build you a custom one on the truck or contact the factory for you. Mine has built me a couple of things out of parts that were not offered in the catalogue over the years.

Snappy did have an interchange handle that went into the soft grip ratcheting screwdrivers. I am not sure if they are still available. I think they were kind of rare.

Grab a Snap-On SGDMRC-SP (1/4 driver speeder shank) along with a hard handle ratcheting screwdriver body. Currently back-ordered on the website, but available.





You will have to mod the hard handle ratcheting screwdriver to allow for the removable shank, but it is an easy swap. There is a thread here on Garage Journal that shows how to do it.

What circumstances would you use a speeder handle on 1/4"?

I find that a hard handle spinner (TM4SAG) and a soft grip flex head ratchet (TGLF72) cover most of my 1/4" spinning needs - spinning a spinner between finger and thumb is faster than cranking a speeder handle and both work well in a screwdriver fashion if more torque is required.
