Its nice to see Snapon get a clue about what the customers want; it makes you wonder if the pics of people modifying their ratchets with hard handles, on this board made them take notice! :)

Is there a particular color you were looking for?

Outside of black, blue, pink and the ever obtuse yellow, the above colors cover 95% of the SO tools offered with hard handles IIRC.

Not true,

There's neon green, dark green, white, clear, cranberry, teal, etc..

I usually only buy rats with plain chrome handles OR hard handles. Obviously I only have a couple hard handles since they quit making them.

for crying out loud Snap-on why oh why did they not put the black handle in their choice of colours for this re-release. I have said that in many threads I know but red, orange and whatever other colours are cool and all but a black handle is a black handle.

what??? theyre not made in usa??

I'm pretty sure they're USA made.

For some reason the suits at SO decided that marking tools "USA" is a bad thing.

I'm a die hard made in the USA tool fan, so it's pretty damn hard for me to stomach, even if I do love the tools, marked or not.

hmmm.... Maybe I'll pick up a couple sets of green ones and triple my money on Ebay!!

seriously though, hope my guy has them. I'd like to have a set of the green or red ones to put away for my little guy. Good to see that Snap On is actually listening to their market.

So is the three piece set available yet? Anyone have part #'s. I want a three piece set or a 1/4" drive one

Is it safe to assume that since these are on dual 80's, that I can swap my soft handle to one of these hard handle's, or are the hard handles not going to be available by themselves?

No packaged set available to my knowledge. The part numbers, just add a D before the 80 or the 72.

FHD80R for the red handled 3/8 drive.
THLD72R for the 1/4 drive in red.
etc...

Not sure of what all ratchets are coming with the hard handles.

This is cool news. I like the grip on my 1/4" and 3/8" hard handles. Maybe a long red handle 3/8" one day.

I don't see these listed on Snap On's website and I tried putting in the part numbers chadster1 listed and no luck. I don't have access to my dealer right now (I'm off on work comp and not supposed to be showing up at work until I'm released). Can anyone get the proper part numbers for 1/4" and 3/8" with orange handles?

Change the R at the end of the part number to an O. These may not ever show up on Snapon.com. I think they were special editions, part of a promo pack. Dealers should be getting some of these between now and Christmas. I may be wrong but it seems like that is the way these were presented to at the meeting when I ordered.

Dang, my dealer hadn't heard anything about them. Wouldn't mind a F80 and THL80 in hard handles.

Same thing with my guy. He wasn't able to get any apparently. I really want a red 1/4" and 3/8".
