What does everyone think is the most comfie hard hat?

Hate's 'em too!!! Hot in the summer, cold in the winter......and uncomfortable as hell....even with a fitter's hat on.

My favorite hard hat story, this is apsolutly true. I go into a galvanizing shop to make a pickup, we are in the middle of a field 300 feet from the nearest building. The forklift driver says " I can't load you if you don't have a hard hat on. I look at the sky and say " whats gonna fall on my head?". He says "couple of months ago a 5000 pound peice of steel fell off of the forks and crushed a driver. To which I answered would a hard hat have saved him? His answer was " It couldn't have hurt." Which lead to the next question which was " So your safety policy is 'it couldn't hurt' ? " Never got an answer to that one.

I have worn an MSA V-guard with ratchet suspension for quite a while both full brim and front brim.

The front brim only I almost always wore a welders beanie under and it was pretty comfy.

My full brim seems to be comfy without it.

In the winter in goes the hard hat liner and I am downright toasty and protected from the wind.

I tried to convince myself I need a skull guard hard hat but I couldn't tell a difference after wearing it for 16 hours so I have stayed with the standard plastic one.

Petzl. Made more for high angle, but very well designed and meets all the standards for Type I hats and Class E.

this is prob the same msa full brim we wear aint that bad. they dont last long if you leave them under truck wheels and laying on the back ot trl and trucks been threw 5 in the past 7 years

Skullgards are compliant, and are the "Cadillac" of hardhats, but they do have a weakness - they crack pretty easily. I like the way they look and fit, but they really aren't worth the cost in the long run.

Saw an engineer guy with some sort of fabric brim around his. Looked dumb, but it kept the sun off.

Does your company not buy you guys hard hats? My company provides them, we can choose between type 1 and type 2 hard hats, no metal. Just plastic because of electical hazzard.

we do get them bought for us, have the fibre metal ones. however, the new fibre metal is heavier than the old ones.

We have to wear MSA V-gards at work. I run foam tape around the inside and wrap it with a bandana. Much more comfortable than stock.

the most comfie hard hat, There is no such beast.

I have a msa skullguard, looks to be made from fiberglass. Have had it for over 10 years, held up fine but does not look so good after floating around in the back of a truck and getting kicked around from job to job. Have not had to wear it for 2 years or so, and i am just fine with that, they give me a headache.

First day I ever wore on on jobsite, a 5lb chunk of metal fell from about 40ft and hit me square in the head, almost knocked my *** out even with the hard hat.

Don't particularly like any of them.

Isn't the rating for a hard hat, take a hit from a 3 lb. ball at a height of 3 feet???

Anything more than that, and you could be dead.....
