Hard to read this old hammer ID

One of my recent finds , definitely an oldie by the construction and shape. All I can make out is Berlin , Conn. any ideas ?

Not Berlin. Looks like a “d”. So maybe ??IBERDIN
Upper part : maybe ROYCE or similar letters, Does look old.

I was looking, and was thinking the same thing. Roys and Wilcox. cool! thanks for the link. Im going to t`ry and clean out the marks with a brush.

I can make out a W on the top line as the last letter. It’s very possible it says Peck Stow on the top line , I can see an OX CO on the bottom line.
Looks like Peck Stow and Wilcox all formed together about 1870. It would’ve cool if this hammer is from that 1880 / 90’s time frame
