I have a need for 3/8" socket drive allen key in both 1/8 and 5/32.. does any manufacturer make these that are hardened? We will need them to be both short and a longer one with around a 5 - 6" shaft.
We use these for taking apart old equipment that is all allen heads and we do this using DeWalt 18v 3/8" impacts. Right now we have been getting them from Grainger (like this minus the ball part http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/BLACKHAWK-BY-PROTO-Hex-Bit-Socket-6PLE3?Pid=search) but they don't last long.. so we had been grinding them down well that just makes the tips last a little bit because the heat makes them brittle.
Does anyone know of a company that makes ultra strong ones?
