The same company is making cabinets for eveyone here in the USA, at Wurth USA we try to support America, alot of our stuff is made in the USA, its not fesiable to ship cabinets from Germany when we can get quality made one's here in the USA. We do have customers who do request some cabinets and speical order stuff from Germany, which is fully avaiable to us. Im not going to hide the fact that a good amount of our stuff is made in Germany, alot of our chemicals and other specialty stuff does come on a boat! As far as the company manfucturing our cabinets im not sure of the name, im sure it will come to me later. I will note that all commerical accounts of Wurth recieve cabinets free though the ORSY program, which is a great program that allows us to give away cabinets to customers purching our products.

A great way to get a large number of really good quality nuts and bolts pretty much for free is to part out a good car like a BMW. Years ago, I did this a few times to obtain parts cars for other restorations, and still have lots of nice hardware left over. Obviously, most of the bolts exposed to the underside will probably be pretty crusty, but anything in the interior is likely to be perfect, and most under the hood will be fine too.

Do you have any more info. on these German-made cabinets? I'd be interested in a 4 or 6 drawer. I've seen some really nice plastic (polyethylene?) plastic trays made in Germany and Sweden. They've held up very well over the years. In fact, I found some made in Sweden at Ikea that have been great:thumbup: Though I "support" America, I'm not convinced that the only way or the best way is to simply by American-made products. I'm not even sure it's possible or desirable given our fluid borders and the state of the globalization today. But I guess that's another topic. I simply asked about USA-stuff as a synonym for quality (not always one in the same, no?). Anyway, I'll check out the Wurth cabinets, and if anyone knows of German-made sources, I'd be interested in hearing about those too.

Here's a post on hardware I just found doing a search for Wurth and Germany. From 1996. Not sure how accurate it is:

wow 1996 I was still in middle school lol, As far as what he says in the post I believe some of what he says and some I do not, From what time told dont know 100% truth to this, alot of hardware comming out of Germany is made in Russia. I know some stuff is still made in Germany, I will look into this more, most customers just question me on the tensile strength, which on most hex head stuff is 120,000 psi, this is standard set by I belive ANSI, and we are tested on it, Ive never gotten very deep into where the bolts are made because judging by what we have it seams to be of high quality compared to some of the stuff comming out of Twian. I will try and look into this some more and do some quality recerch, from what Im told the american made stuff is made here.

Here's a pic of my setup, actually I've added about 3 more cabinets since this picture. The Blue Cabinets are Cronatron Welding and the Brown ones are the Lawson stuff, all are serviced by the same rep.

I have a pigeon hole bolt bin that I got from Napa. when I got it back when I tought it was a goof deal because it appeared that if you bought the bin with the bolt it was about the same price as buying the bolts alone

I have also gone to some of the hardware stores that have closed and bought boxes of bolts and stuff at the 50 and 60% off prices"

This is what I did also.
