I've always heard and been told that hardware stores sell a reference book with just about everything you need to know for making calculations and so forth. Well I went by Harbor Freight on Sunday and noticed that they actually sell a book like this for $9.99. For the life of me though, I can not remember what the title of this book is, or what you would call it. I know it's a reference guide, but can't find anything specific googling for it.

I should have just picked it up but decided to wait and look around and check what the going rate for the book was everywhere else.

One thing that I think about now is that I have never seen this book at Sears, Lowes or Home Depot for that matter. Do any of you guys know if they actually sell it? I worked almost 5 years at HD and never saw it, but could be mistaken. At the same time though, this reminds me of something you'd get at your local hardware like Ace or Taylor's Do It Center.

I checked the one at H/F, 13" to the foot, 15oz to the pound...close enough.:D

I have one of these in the truck, another in the garage, and a third at the shop. Not ****, just misplaced it twice. :bounce:

Some of them "little" books run to $75.00. I've got a welding one that runs that high, and a few other pipe fitting versions that are around $30.00

Gave a good pipe ordnant one away.....kind of regret that.

Many Barnes & Noble and Boarders book stores sell those as well. I bought mine in a map store several years ago. The fat and bald guy with glasses who rang me up at the register arrogantly told me that it's a book full of info I'd never use. Here we are years latee and I've refrenced that book more times than I can remember since buying it. :)

I've got one sitting on my desk right now. 2nd Edition, 16th printing - August 1998. Boss lady bought them for us at my old job.
