Hardwired electric heater needs disconnect to meet code?

Thinking about installing the FUH24 with an Aube 24V relay and Honeywell Wifi thermostat. It seems simpler and cheaper to hardwire it, I can even install the Aube inside the heater and run thermostat wires back down the whip. The breaker for the circuit will be on a different floor.

Can't seem to find an answer if it will meet code without a disconnect switch. Anyone?

A disconnect doesn't have to be a switch.
A cord cap and receptacle is a disconnect.
Yes, you will need a disconnect.
