Hardwiring 220v welder

When i finish running my feeder for the barn, i will start on wiring the circuits inside. I have a question about the circuit for my 220 welder (50 amp). I will be copying this guys setup for an extension cord for the welder:

Can i wire this directly to the 50 amp breaker in my load center in the barn?

NO. You cannot hard wire cord into a panel. Cord is only for temporary non-fixed-wiring use.

And I hope you do not mean the first page of that thread. That is pretty hack.

That is scary. From a quick skim of the first page he is using the wrong cord, wrong receptacle and doesn’t appear to have any protection against electrocuting himself one he plugs it in.

I would put a normal circuit in with a 6-50R and buy this:

Exactly.
You can't buy just the parts to make that cord for that price.
