We have been in our house 10 months now, and have noticed that the floors, dark hardwood, are starting to dull a bit.

When we moved in.

What are you all using as a floor treatment to protect the wood, and bring back the rich color without making it slippery?

Thanks,

We use murphy's oil soap diluted in some water, it seems to help restore shine and definitely cleans the floor! There are also some kits at lumber liquidator's that are specific for hardwood floor. Good luck, and btw I love all those can lights!

Just trying to show the differences. Hard to tell in photos, but the floor faded some.

My folks always used Murphy's Oil Soap and Na-Nor Bowling Alley Wax. The wax is a bit of work, but the results are amazing. I use B/A wax on different pieces of furniture and trim through the house. No other finish comes close, but again it requires periodic maintenance.

The wax will even out the color and protect.

If you can't find Na-Nor, Butcher's is my second choice, with comparable results.

Nice looking place. I recommend Bona floor care products to my customers after a new install. Their products are designed to clean and protect engineered wood flooring. Armstrong/Bruce also makes a few products available at the big box stores as well.
