Harley Davidson- Orange

For those of you who have ever have painted a room or garage, using orange for Harley, what brand or product color did you use? I want to paint the lower 1/3 of my garage wall, Harley Orange.

I have heard in the past people refer to Home Depo and their Orange paint number "pms-165".....I have called 3 Home Depot Stores and they have no clue what I am talking about in the paint department.

Any brands, paint colors or numbers would be appreciated.

It's a good match for Hobart Orange and I think you'll like it for the HD Orange too.

Steve, since Home Depot carries Glidden, I should be able to take your info in to them and they will be able to look it up. Right?

I'm not certain about HD having this. It is an industrial coating made for professional application - at least that is what my gallon can says.

Glidden paint is terrible, I always buy Bear paint. But I painted my sons room Chicago Bears colors using Glidden Football Team colors and it took me 2 Gallons of Blue and 2 Gallons of Orange to get a nice even coat. Every other room in my house is painted with Bear brand paint and it's always one coat. With Glidden it was 5-6 coats.

Home Depot will mix the Harley orange in Bear brand paint.

Just my opinon.

Just an fyi, pms stands for Pantone Matching System. It is a system of ink colors that printers use to identify printing ink colors. All of the ink companies, printers, etc use a pms book that has all these colors printed in it so they can order ink colors.

Thanks for all the tips. I ended up taking my Harley shirt into Menards and they matched it up to a .00% (100% match) is what the computer said.
Even got it in my favorite brand. Pittsburgh Paint.

They gave me a color card sticker but there are too many numbers and color names on it to explain. Sorry.
