The flu kind of turned into an upper respiratory infection, which is normal for me, my Doc retired so I'm trying to find another Doc, it's not fun looking when you dont feel good.
The chicks are growing crazy fast.

I put one of my blink cameras in with them so we could keep an eye on them.
The black chick and one other died the first week but the rest are doing very well.

The game chickens that are in the coop will be going back to my sil this weekend, he has made room for them at his place, he has almost 200 birds.
Then the coop will be set up for the chicks, at the rate they are growing they will outgrow the brooder in about two weeks. I'm going stirr crazy sitting in the house and I want to get back out and work, I mowed the lawn yesterday and that was rough but I got it done, today I'm going to make a handle for a pipe wrench that I started on before I got sick, we'll see how it goes. Thanks guys!

There was a split in the cedar tree that I used, so I set the auto feed at almost a ⅛" depth per pass so it only took about four passes to clean it up then it was easy to contour and sand. It took about an hour and a half to get to that point.
Thanks for all the well wishes, I have been testing for covid since I got sick and today I tested positive, first time I have ever tested positive. I'm feeling better than I did a couple of days ago, dont know what to think!
I want to go to the shop and do something!

I know it ***** but I always feel better at least doing something. Get up and literally do anything. Sitting still makes me feel worse. You got it!

Hey Jim, sorry to hear you been sick. I seen this recently at Byron Drag Strip. I read your post early on about the golf cart you were building possible Jeep version. I thought of you so had to get a few pictures. Owner told me it was a one off fiberglass body built for some promotion.
You can see from the pictures it was scaled very well and looks comfy to drive.
I remember the truck you built from that Honda 3 wheeler was cool.
Montgomery fest this weekend I know you remember working those crazy days with the village.

Hope you get well soon.

Marv

Thanks Marv, I think I'm on the good side of it now.
That jeep body would be about right size and is very cool, I put that project on the back burner for now, I was getting in a hurry and not making good decisions, I'll get back to it a little later.

I've still got the little red truck, I got a new motor for it back in the winter and just bought a 40 series centrifical clutch for it. I want to get it running this winter so I'll have a neighborhood vehicle to put around here on.
It's always good to hear from you my friend.

I built that truck around 1998 or there about. It was originally powered by an ATC250 honda motor that came out of one of those big red three wheelers, it had a five speed auto trans.
I pulled a 1918 Caterpillar road grader behind it that was fully functional. The Mayor of Montgomery rode on the grader in the Montgomeryfest parade every fall.
It was a lot of work every year, especially on me as I was the entire maintenance department (a one man show) I had police, fire, and public works vehicles to get ready and cleaned before the three day event.
The cat grader is mounted on a concrete pad in front of the main public works building and they have several mechanics and helpers working in the maintenance dept. now. Life goes on!
The Honda motor only had a pull rope to start it and I wanted an electric starter so I took it apart, and I briefly considered putting the 150cc motor that I put in the golf cart in it but I would have had to change the tires and wheels to something that made it look like a 4x4 and I didnt want that look so I am going to put a Briggs and Stratton in it with a centrifical clutch on it, that is closer to a stock set up that was originally on that rear axle. The axle is really a transaxle, it has forward and reverse built in it.
I'm boarded and rambling on, so I'll stop now and go take a nap.

Couldn't take sitting in the house anymore so I went out and cleaned the chicken coop and bleached there water can, then I cleaned the brooder pen for the chicks.
I gave them some old bread, they had fun stealing it from each other.
Then I looked at the handle I made for the pipe wrench and it didnt look right so I put it back in the lathe and reshaped it, I'm happier with it now.

I put some stain on it and shot it with some clear, I think it will look ok to display now.
It is raining so I am just sitting here thinking about what to do next.

Didnt move yesterday or today, still not hitting on all 8.
I need to make a list and prioritize some things.
The chickens in the coop must go home Saturday, the chicks are going to be bumping there heads on the roof of the brooder, so next week they have to go to the coop. It's getting crowded in the brooder.

Sooner or later the concrete boys are going to show up, so I need to go over the pad and finish leveling it. Plus about a hundred other things.
Shorty I hope I can fit the red truck in soon, it would be so helpful to use around the yard and for all the trips I make around the neighborhood.
I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow at 10:30 so I'm hoping to try to get out and work a bit in the afternoon.

I had a Dr's appt. this morning, came home and decided to see if I could fix my lift chair (it decided to collapse right when I got sick) I took out a crossmember and one of the actuators that broke,
20220824_115408.jpg
The crossmember got welded and reinforced, it was steel.
The actuator is aluminum and it tore at the bushing.
20220824_124508.jpg
I turned a plug and welded it into the tube.
20220824_131116.jpg
I had to go to Donnies and tig weld it, he has been working on his exhaust on his Bronco and had the welder in his shop.
I went home and got interrupted and didnt get a finished pic, but it went back together and is working fine. Pat's a little upset, she wanted me to go buy a new chair but those things ain't cheap so she'll get over it, I hope!

The chair worked good so I'm happy.
The Doc was my pain management Dr. He just supplies me my monthly fix.
My GP sold his practice to the local hospital then figured out that he didnt like there rules so they all quit, the hospital permintaly closed the location. My GP is in the process of opening a new office which is way closer to me than before. I will be glad when he gets back in the office. My barber is his barber also, she says he is having trouble quitting fishing right now!!!

Thanks Kev, I'm still moving slow but it ain't going to win. 👍

Uncle Willy, a 2 door, white, blue interior, it needs to be a good one.

She had this one, it was perfect except for the typical 90s paint. The trailer tongue latch broke and we rolled it on 64 highway.

That's what Pat said also, since I cant get in and out of the Jeep easily she dosnt want it. I can put a set of amp research electric boards on a Tahoe and get in and out easy even with big tires and a lift on it. She is a big 4x4 nut, the bigger the truck the better she likes it.
I want a good solid one, thanks.

I need to get the dash swapped over in mine. It has been so brutally hot it has been a back burner project.

Why a 95? It has too many one year only parts for me. Although #7 is a 95.
